Once you unlock the (cant remember what its called) pedestal it should open the map up for an overview, and highlight 5 areas in a pentagon shape around a center point with 2 additional points in the right and left hand bottom corners. These are where 2 of the 3 party members need to be rescued from thier own fade nightmare. These can only be unlocked when you have cleared the 2 connector points when that is done then you can go to the center point to rescue your 3rd party member and fight thre demon. Keep in mind that just because fire blocks off a passage, or a door is un openable, or you see a spirit door does not mean it inpassable, just inpassable until you have to propper form to negate the restriction.
Listing those forms are
mouse for mouse holes kind of a given
Spirit form is for the transparent doors, a side note here is this form is most devistating on the caster class enemies scattered around.
The burning man is for passage through the fire blocked passages and doorways
the golem is for the doors that require massive strenght to open.
If it seems like your running in circles alot it is because your supposed to, or it semed like that to me. As for being able to give you a point A to B to C etc walkthrough i can not just what i have figured out on my only time through there. You will use the corresponding formsto access mouse holes to acess spirit doors to access fire blocked hallways to access the locked doors.
Good luck i hope this helps

that quest is by far the ONLY bad experience i've had in the game.

Heh, I thought it was awesome. It's fun to have different powers, and have to use them in different areas (and different battles).
Really well designed. It was MUCH better than the tower itself, which is a seemingly endless progression of "hallway, closed door, open door, get attacked by four monsters, kill, go to next door, open door, get attacked by four monsters, kill, go to next door..." ad nauseum.

Thanks that helped! Now just g0otta figure out how to survive through the rest of this place without heal kits
Dude seriously no health kits good freeking luck. What may help is using the different shapes to fight different mobs. As i mentioned the spirit form is devistating on the mages you will come across and since it is resistant to magic damage can rejuvinate and its physical attacks on the mages is pretty much a 2 hit kill. I also think that changing forms heals and the lyrium deposits are like little health post themselves.
Once i figured out that the dalish elves sell elf oot in any quantity and the dwarf in camp sells vials in any quantity i never have less that 90 lesser healing poultices on me at any give time.
Also the Quartermaster in the mage tower will sell lyrium dust in any quantity you want so there are your major types of potions. Morrigan by default has the skill to make the larger versions once you get the recipies.
With both Morrigan and Wynne set up as healers no matter what the fight i have yet to need anything larger than the lesser poultices except in my case (main tank) where i have a few of the larger types for those situations where the healer still is waiting on the heal cool down.
Good luck

Hmm So far I have the mouse, golem and fire, which zone do I get the spirit one at?
The Darkspawn Invasion. Search through the mouse holes.

what is lyrium and why do i need it i use health potions and i don't die and i have a bunch of good armor and good weapons i don't understand the point of lyrium so.....
It's there as a temporary power boost if needed. You don't have to click on any of the lyrium shards if you don't need health or mana restored.
