The exception unknown software exeption(0x40000015) occurred in the aplication at location 0x008b2a7c.
click bla bla you get the idea.
is this something regular or is this suppose to be fixed by now and i just havent found the fix. i can play the game at full specs for about 30 min to an hour, some times its less. if i drop the specs i useually get more time but it always seems to crash this way every time i play. i quit playing for a long time because of this, i was hopeing the latest patch would have fixed the problem but still nothing.
any suggestions. ill post my specs if you need me to. any way any help would be great.

Basic Hardware Specification Chart (Empty so far)
Processor Manufacturer: AMD / Intel
Processor Name / Type: Athlon 64 / Pentium / C2D / dual core / quad, etc.
Processor Speed: ?.? Ghz (or AMD Performance Number)
Operating System / Service Pack: WindowsXP with SP #?, Win7, Vista ? (Oh, no!)
System RAM: ? ? GBs (MBs, if less than 1024 ? )
Video (GPU) Manufacturer: ATI / Nvidia (only those two are supported, PERIOD, so answer which of them you have)
Video Card Model: (examples) Radeon HD 5670 / Geforce GT 240
Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (use the numbers, not the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card Manufacturer:
Sound Card Model:
(And this is only for the raw hardware variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

They don't make it easy to do so. You have to save off your game saves, uninstall, reinstall, and then locate the last prior (1.02A) patch to use.seteleechete wrote...
is there some way to remove the patch? i would rather have the lagg and not have the game crashes >.<

here is what im guessing. as i get longer play with less graphics. im thinking its filling up my memory cash and when it fills up it refuses to release any and there for crashes giving an error. the reason i feel this way is that more glitz = more mem usage = quicker filling up my my ram and vram. less = longer play time. its hard to belive they havent fixed this bug yet.

gorath will i lose my char if i do that?
If you just lose your character, what would be the point of backing up your savegames? In other words: no, you won't lose your character. You might have to force load due to rolling back the patch, but it should still work. And you can always re-apply the patch if you have to and then continue on with the character that way.

If it's a problem with your hardware, then there's no bug for them to fix. Is the memory address in the crash message always the same? I.e. the "at location" part?

You pass the system requirements and not recommended. So you will not be able to play with all the bells and whistles enabled.
You will need to upgrade to crank it up.
I would stick with lower settings and use patch 1.02a

javascript:alert(navigator.userAgent)
into IE address bar.
It will be next to .NET CLR is the versions you have first two number x.x are the ones that matter, maybe more I'm not sure if service packs would matter.
(Also listed in C:\\Windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework)
Anyways.
I have 3.5 , 1.1, 2.0, 3.0.
I know this game doesn't require 4.0 ....

No, it doesn't, but since I installed 4.0, I've yet to see any crashes and the memory leak issue is apparently gone. Either that or it's just leaking much more slowly. Which is still a good thing, if not ideal. Anyway, updating to 4.0 may clear up the constant throwing of exceptions as well.
The worst I've seen since updating .NET was the game seeming to freeze after I told it to take a screenshot. I alt-tabbed out to see if it had crashed, but there was no error dialog. Alt-tabbed back in to find it behaving normally, and kept playing. Basically, it looks like some of these low-level bugs (as opposed to, say, forgetting to make sure that DEX actually has an effect on dagger damage) might be more .NET's fault than the game's.
