I'm guessing I'm mainly talking about the Dwarf Commoner, Dwarf Noble, City Elf, and Human Noble origins, since I I haven't played the Dalish Elf origin yet and in the Magi origin you were already separated from family.
I had no basis on what each of the relatives in the origins looked like so I ended up creating wardens in these who looked almost nothing like family.
-In the Dwarf Noble origin, my female warden is a brunette and had a thinner, more streamlined face, and therefore didn't look at all to be related to the Aeducans.
-In the Dwarf Commoner origin, my male warden has that short, frontspike blonde hair and blonde beard, and has a pretty square-jawed face. Because of this, he doesn't look at all to be related to Rica and the mother.
-Hell, the two wardens mentioned above would look more convincing to be family if they switched families.
-My male Human Noble had too long of a face to to have come from the Couselands. I kept having to tell myself when I played the origin that the longer face kinda resembles Teryna Eleanor, but even still, no resemblance at all to Teryn Bryce or Fergus.
-Based on the facial resemblance, my male City Elf is the closest to looking like family. He at least looks like he could come from his father and Shianni and Soris are cousins, so the facial resemblance isn't that important on their end. Besides he still looks like he could resemble Shianni and Soris anyway, so the point is somewhat moot.
I'm not even complaining at all to Bioware. Its cool that you don't see your family until after you create your character, as it adds to the immersion. I just think its funny how radically different each people's wardens can look from the warden's families.
