Hey, I just had an open-poll question for you all. In any of the Origins where you see members of your Warden's families, did your Warden actually look like his/her family members the first time playing those Origins?

I'm guessing I'm mainly talking about the Dwarf Commoner, Dwarf Noble, City Elf, and Human Noble origins, since I I haven't played the Dalish Elf origin yet and in the Magi origin you were already separated from family.

I had no basis on what each of the relatives in the origins looked like so I ended up creating wardens in these who looked almost nothing like family.

-In the Dwarf Noble origin, my female warden is a brunette and had a thinner, more streamlined face, and therefore didn't look at all to be related to the Aeducans.

-In the Dwarf Commoner origin, my male warden has that short, frontspike blonde hair and blonde beard, and has a pretty square-jawed face. Because of this, he doesn't look at all to be related to Rica and the mother.

-Hell, the two wardens mentioned above would look more convincing to be family if they switched families.

-My male Human Noble had too long of a face to to have come from the Couselands. I kept having to tell myself when I played the origin that the longer face kinda resembles Teryna Eleanor, but even still, no resemblance at all to Teryn Bryce or Fergus.

-Based on the facial resemblance, my male City Elf is the closest to looking like family. He at least looks like he could come from his father and Shianni and Soris are cousins, so the facial resemblance isn't that important on their end. Besides he still looks like he could resemble Shianni and Soris anyway, so the point is somewhat moot.

I'm not even complaining at all to Bioware. Its cool that you don't see your family until after you create your character, as it adds to the immersion. I just think its funny how radically different each people's wardens can look from the warden's families.

My Dwarf noble DID look a lot like his family.... but then, to me all dwarfs look the same except for these wannabe dwarfs who shave^^

My other´s don´t, if only because I use hairstyles, presets, eye colors, hair colors and skin tone from mods.

My first human noble looked a LOT like his father. Enough so I actually thought they'd coded it so he'd take on a similar face as the character you created. Subsequent play throughs showed me different, but it was pretty close the first time.

To me my Human Noble resembled his family. Yeah his face was thinner than the other family members but I chalked that up to my Warden being young

I once made my first Cousland before. She was black and turned out to look nothing like either parent (oh Bioware you silly sausages, how do I explain that? You shouldn't show both parents.)

I thought this for my City Elf in regards to Cyrion, but I soon learned through subsequent new games with different origins that it isn't so.

So at least I'm not alone in my wardens looking like they were adopted rather than born into their families.

This happened to me, too. I thought the same thing about Shianni and Soris' red hair, for that matter.

My warden looks suspiciously like Cailan and Alistair, mostly because I used Cailan's face and changed the facial structure a bit. [bigger jaws, different eyes, black hair]

Standing together they look like 3 half brothers, their father being a king who was JFK-like in terms of dalliances.

This was my Cousland. I think she may have been adopted.

As for my other Wardens, my city elf did look kind of like Cyrion. Same eyes and face shape.

Well you did a great job designing her regardless. She seems like a fine addition to the Cousland line, adoption or otherwise :D

I actually forgot to mention MY female Human Noble. I learned from my previous Human Noble and designed my my female Cousland to resemble Teryna Eleanor almost to the letter, barring a minor mistake in jawline adjustment and a couple of things to mix in to help show the resemblance to Bryce ^_^. Probably the only thing I would go back and change if I could would be the makeup, because thats my biggest weakness when making female PCs in Bioware games, besides of course my horrible attempts to make my PCs look related to said PCs' families lol.

But who is resembling the Trailer Warden with the tattoo on his left eye. O_o

Or is this guy (theoretically speaking) from the cut human commoner origin?

She looks like she could be Duncans daughter instead.

Awkward...

My HNF had Cousland resemblance. My brosca was a redhead with green eyes. Only my DN looked different from other Aeducans.

Never played elf origins for any length of time, so dunno there. My experimental CE looked like a crack ho.

The trailer warden doesn't seem to be from any of the origins from the game.

Well, yeah, definately not a mage, or any other races, but he seems too old to be a human noble origin, and I'm not sure if it'd fit with a human commoner origin, he seems far too... hardened?

If I had to guess, I'd say that the trailer warden came from the cut avvar barbarian origin, which would explain his looks, the tattoo, and his personality.

My first Human Noble looked like he could be old enough to be Fergus' father so that's a different kind of pickle...

My Cousland ended up looking like an illegitimate Duncan daughter, at least in coloring. She was tan with dark brown hair and brown eyes. I managed to completely forget the family resemblance problem with my male Cousland, too, because he ended up with the same coloring as the female, but with a long thin face and nose. Basically, as opposite from the Couslands as you could get.

My first City Elf Kallian resembled her family better than the Couslands, but still wasn't obvious. She had brown hair and pale-ish skin, with a very narrow face and small, high, wide-set eyes. Compared to Shianni and Soris, the only thing similar was the hair, I guess. I also made a male City Elf (who I never ended up playing through) named Barrfhionn who was blonde with really narrow eyes, etc., so he didn't look like any of them either.

The only resemblance my Dwarf Commoner Batul had to her family was the red hair. Besides that, Batul had a dark rough complexion and a wide square face, as well as large eyes and really low-set brows.

My Dwarf Noble Tsheda most resembled her family probably, with brown hair, pale skin, and a round face.

He definately looks like a Cousland, but he looks like an older brother, rather than a younger brother, to Fergus.

My HNM (see avatar) looks remarkably like his Cousland brother and father. Much more so than the avatar really shows. My Dalish elf must look like her parents since everyone recognises her as her father's child, but City Elf and Dwarf look nothing like their families. Since nobody knows what the mages parents looked like that one doesn't matter.

My Dwarf Noble doesn't really look like her family, but who knows; we've never seen Queen Aeducan. Here she is:

My Cousland was probably adopted

My City Elf didn't really resemble his family, but he definitely did fit in.

I designed my Cousland boy have similar features to Fergus.  Mainly eyes, nose, facial structure, and hair color.  They really look like brothers, but obviously that's because it was intentional.  At first I made a character that looked completely out of place with his family and setting, and it felt so weird being called "pup" and "little brother by these characters that looked totally unrelated.  If they don't look similar to the family within the setting, I can't get into them.

My human noble was definitely adopted. Either that, or somebody was screwing around about 9 months before he was born. :?

I wish there was a system in game that actually adjusted the facial features of parents and siblings to resemble the character you created. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement such a feature. At least skin color should not be difficult to get right.
