That counts as cheating

How many of you out there just bought Specilization books then reloaded to get your money back? Or learned Blood Mage then reloaded?
THIS is how people have so much money!

It's not a cheat. How can you 'cheat' in a single player game? There's no one to cheat but yourself, and if you're cool with whatever you're doing in your own game, it's not cheating.
Maybe not -
but it's pretty much the same as going through a game set on God mode -
or soloing a table top adventure after giving yourself max stats and all the items you could ever want.
There's no "rules" against it, you are not "cheating" anyone but yourself . . .
but I say if the RIAA and MPAA can call file-sharing "stealing", then I can call OP's tactics "cheating."

I personally like that once these specializations are unlocked, they stay so, I would really hate to be forced to unlock them each and every time. As for books, then I once bought them, though I did not reload them as I wasn't aware that there's such an option, was on my first run through. Later I sort of forgot where the heck did I even see them on sale, but no matter, they were already unlocked and I was happy about it.
EDIT: Just to be clear, this post isn't aimed at anyone specifically, just a general post to all of those "holier then thou" types who beat their chests and yell "cheating is bad for all because I don't like it". You don't like it - don't do it. But don't bother others.

I rushed to download a mod which unlocked all specializations (took me like 30 secs), then started my very first game.BewareTheDrow wrote...
I rushed through the game to unlock arcane warrior, then reloaded to the save game back right when I turned level 7.

And about the whole cheating is pointless and wrong thing, as long as you are enjoying yourself does it really matter? The whole point of the game is to have fun after all, lol. (unless its multiplayer)
That's why video games are so awesome, everyone enjoys them in a different way, whether it be modding, using cheats, playing the "pure" way, doing speedruns, unlocking everything, etc.

Blood Mage I got on accident. I guess Magic Score helps Mages in Intimidate as much as Strength helps Rogues and Warriors (??) because I scared the ****** out of <Spoiler Blocked> during the <Spoiler Blocked> and so even got a reward for allowing the <Spoiler Blocked> to live, at the expense of 63 Experience points. Quite a bargain I'd say.

The only books I bought were the Ranger and Spirit Healer books and by the time I did that I had a lot of money anyway so I didn't bother with the reload thingy.
I saved/loaded and did the quests for the Blood Mage and Reaver specialisations as I didn't want multiple play throughs to unlock them all. The only other one was to search the 'Net to find out how to get Shape Shifter because even at 100(Love) Morrigan didn't want to teach me.

I didn't really cheat unlocking the specializations, I didn't buy one book. I unlocked all except Blood Mage and Shapeshifter (Cause who gives a flying poo about that) on my first playthrough. Granted, I was about level 18 before I had Assassin AND Duelist (The two specializations I wanted for my melee Rogue) so that kind of sucked.

Totally. I remember when (Spoiler Blocked) first (Spoiler Blocked) before you reach (Spoiler Blocked). I couldn't believe the (Spoiler Blocked) actually let me (Spoiler Blocked)! Luckily, (Spoiler Blocked) the first time so when (Spoiler Blocked), I just took her bleeding (Spoiler Blocked) and (Spoiler Blocked) all the way to the bank!

I'm calling it cheating, because the game obviously wasn't meant to be played that way.
That said -
It's a single-player game. If it is how you have fun, have at it. If you like reading a full summary of a book before you read it (or the last page first), that's cool. I've found that I enjoy many tv series when I've come in the middle and really enjoyed the finding the beginning after making it through the end first (though this was never on purpose.)
So have at it - play the game how its fun to you.
(oh, also not against file-sharing: was just a dig at the RIAA and MPAA for calling it "stealing" when it clearly isn't - it can be illegal and wrong, but stealing implies the legitimate owner no longer has possession of the item)

I agree. I like the way the specializations can tie your character's development into the storyline. Just having them unlocked from the get-go seems less interesting to me. Just my opinion, though.0mar wrote...
Specs should have always been locked for every playthrough. It doesn't even make sense that my second character has more options than my first just because my first unlocked those very options.

I was thinking to myself..how in the heck can I afford 130 gold to buy this axe, when darkspawn can't even give me 50 cents worth in loot? Poor sobs.
I did however figure out a way on my second run through to make a bit of dough.
If you have Grand or potent health or Lyrium potions, put them in your junk.
Talk to a merchant (in camp is what I used) press SELL ALL JUNK to merchant.
Then buy back all but 1 potion from him..
Then when selling back to merchant, make sure you press Triangle then X real fast..and you make a little profit in your pocket. It takes a while to get the hang of it.
But you will notice that the potions have doubled to buy back.
Sometimes though when you get done, the potions will disappear from your junk bag..weird.
So I usually just buy an extra one just in case.
I would save the game before doing this though......
It helped me buy my lovely axe from the camp.
And this is not really a cheat.....it's a tip ....lol.
Hey..I'm a rogue..wh'addya want from me?
