*is new to fanfiction world*
Is it rude to speculate on character motivations or glower at characters crossly while giving, "You'd better not be doing what I think you're doing" lectures to them? Because while it sounds harmless in my head, it might come out more like "Write the story this way or you're WRONG" which is not what I mean at all.

I glower at Brand because she's is so disgustingly familiar and snarky and sweet with Anders ... right in front of Alistair. Nothing like watching your ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend while wearing his underwear. *snickers*

I can't speak for other writers, but I actually welcome character lectures because it's interesting to hear outside perspectives AND it gives me an idea of how certain future plot elements will be received. It might also help me refine elements that can be refined without having too much impact on the endgame.
And I also glower at my characters (especially Brand and I know exactly what her deal is) and feel quite strongly about them. If other people are also reacting to them (for good or ill) then I feel like I'm accomplishing something. Ultimately, though, my goal is to tell the story I want to tell and, while I hope that people who are enjoying it now enjoy it in the end, I'm not going to change the story for anyone.
@klarabella: My sister pointed out that Anders seems like the type to forego underwear for the most part so she's operating under the assumption that he has a stash of briefs that are for emergencies only and haven't been worn, and that's what he would give to Alistair. Not that Alistair would know that, so the psychological harm is still being done.

I finally read the two latest chapters. I just refuse to believe that Zevran would betray a friend, it has to be the works of another leaders of the Crows. I am keeping my mouth shut on the romance and I feel sorry for Alistair having to ride in the same carriage as Brand, Anders and lil' Bryce; that has to be a big slap in the face.

Hehe, well, that WAS Alistair saying that Zev was the problem. And we all know that Alistair never quite trusted Zev, so his viewpoint is bound to be skewed.

Good backstory chapter, and I agree that Oghren is funny. Great job capturing his voice. It was interesting to see how Brand got to be a reaver. I assumed she put on the thane helmet and learned by instant infusion of badass!

Well, badass infusion via Thane helmet is how Game Brand got to be a reaver. I felt like Story Brand needed something a little less awesome, to avoid Mary Sue-ism.

FINALLY, I caught up! And I swear it keeps getting better and better. Also, I don't care how broken Alistair is, I feel even stronger about this now:
