Aw, if I didn't laugh at it I wouldn't be able to write about it.
One of these days I'm going to write something really sweet and Alistair-centric (maybe if I ever do a Ron story, since they're bros and he does everything right by him).
Your Alistair is still sweet, because you've done what many of us can't but which a good writer has to- put a character through the wringer to see what comes out the other side. A lot of people criticize the Awakening Oghren, but I was impressed at the writers' daring. It doesn't make us appreciate a writer sometimes to see a beloved character suffer (I recall flinging Tess of the d'Urbervilles across the room and vowing never to read Hardy again) but the churn is no doubt what is keeping many of us waiting with bated breath for the next chapter.
