Of all the things you have seen people post they wanted for ME3, which one would piss you off the most if it came true?

As a trilogy, it is better then ME trilogy, as a game, ME2 outshines all three of them by far.
Also God of War is a fantastic series but just because you don't like it does not mean it fails.
How can you say the ME trilogy isn't as good as any other since the last game hasn't been released yet? It might be the greatest game ever and complete the trilogy perfectly (here's hoping).

So far it has been a disapoint, now I am not saying ME2 sucked, I love the game, my fav I have ever played but as a trilogy it just failed. Look at god of war 2, Metroid Prime 2 and prince of Persia warrior within. They where made for newbies but they where also made for the fans and all three delivered and became a fantastic middle chapter and paved the way for three fantastic final chapters. Bioware can suprise us, but as of now. the trilogy has not been as good as it could. Heres hoping Bioware pulls a fast one on us.

I really had more Tali than I wanted in ME2, and it just felt shoehorned in (really, why couldn't there have been some other quarian at Freedom's Progress?). I get that it's fanservice, and the Talimancers are the most vocal contingent of fans. I don't mind fanservice really, it is optional after all, but when certain characters are central to the mission, and other characters can be ignored altogether (Thane/Samara/Zaeed/Kasumi), it seems a bit unbalanced to me. Yes, you can choose to not recruit Tali after Horizon, but you would still see her on Freedom's Progress regardless. Not everyone wants it to be the Tali Show, regardless of how vocal her admirers are.

But you're right, Mass Effect characters shouldn't be a popularity contest. I'd rather go for consistency and balance, rather than have some characters elevated to higher levels than others.

i would like more items/stats for weapons but i don't want an inventory.
I would like more 'shooter elements' in that they refine the shooting more. it still needs fixing...
(both sides of the coin for me!)

That said, if they do replace some of the party members of ME2, I'd like your former squadmates to at least play an important role in the final battle against the Reapers.

-brought back old inventory system (a new system would be fine)
-old squadmates become cameos (me2 would become pointless)
-it becomes a shooter ( what disappointed me the most was the lack of story and conversation between squadmates in me2- this made the game felt like mindless shooter and not a rpg. it would upset me the most if they subtract the rpg.)(i personally would like to see more elements from dragonage )( cities are small too and you can't retalk to characters)
- consequences not having an effect b/c of new players (me2 was basically choosing a lot of decisions with no immediate consquences- this makes playing it pointless if it has no affect in the 3rd game)
- they made new squadmates to replace the old ones (you have just gathered the elite and so we have to replace them? we also haven't heard that much backstory or dialogue from them to throw them away (compared to other rpgs) )
- an mmo (kotorn
-unnecessary nudity ( it would be okay if its tasteful but otherwise i perfer none)
-mako came back for the majority of game ( the amount of amko distracted from the main storyline)
-characters suddenly becoming bi (this doesn't really bother me that much, but it probably bothers some people more)
- tali unmasked (this does not bother me, added b/c some people complain of this ) (i however perfer them to spend more resources on modeling female aliens)
-i couldn't think of anymore comments that would be annoying to some or me
the more i think about the improvements they could have done to the game,it makes me wished they released it. gameplaywise it was better but the rpg storyline elements were so dumbed down....
edited
what would really annoy me the most is if bioware listens to the people who complain about characters talking about their backstory or having too much dialogue. compared to other rpgs bioware was lacking in the character development. if you don't want to listen to characters use the skip dialogue option. for instance in the first game characters had loads to say but people complained about them talking too much, so in the second game there is barely any dialogue?! i actually liked listening to tali in the first game but people complained that she talked too much. you don't have to talk to the characters if you don't want too.

Why would new squadmates ****** you off? What about the possible scenario of losing all but two of your squadmates? You probably won't save the galaxy with only a guy who dies in less than a year and THE PRIIIIZE...

That's the point. If you lost all but Thane and Jacob, then that is YOUR fault. Not mine. I managed to get everyone out alive, and now, because some idiots managed to kill EVERYONE, I have to lose all my favorite characters? And get a bunch of loser replacements? No! If you only have two squadmates, you only get two squadmates, plus Liara, and Ashley/Kaiden. You have a squad of four. That is it. You don't deserve more if you killed all but two. Any and all repercussions you may suffer due to your carelessness (which is what losing your squadmates comes down to, carelessness), are yours to deal with. Not mine.
Sorry, but just the thought of losing the whole squad, just because they can die, is rediculous and annoys me to no end.

Surviving with 2 squadmates has nothing to do with carelessness. It usually takes some planning because it is so hard to get a bunch of people killed unless the player avoided doing loyalty missions. I went into a suicide mission with 1 loyalty and had trouble whittling it down to 2. Assuming such a worst case scenario, I wouldn't mind seeing a couple new squadmates, but it doesn't really make a difference as along as all the ME1/2 squadmates are still there.InStereoWhereAvailable wrote...

I would be incredibly displeased if your dead squadmembers were replaced (i.e. Kolyat replaces Thane, Maelon replaces Mordin, random geth replaces Legion). The characters and consequences of their deaths would be lessened/lost if they are so easily replaceable.

... a bunch of new squadmates? Why?
I have one Paragon and one Renegade playthrough saved where almost all of my squadmates die just so it would justify it if we need to recruit a bunch of new squadmates agiain.
Things that would bug me.
-Tali/Garrus forgetting their character development from ME1 again
-Quarians. Seriously. I avoid as many things involving them as possible in subsequent playthroughs because I'm sick of the entire race furiously beating off to how awesome Tali is. It's worse than her fan-thread. If she wasn't a borderline worthless squad member (none of her powers are useful, baseline weapons), I'd call her a total Mary Sue. The Quarian missions actually made me hate my favorite character from the first game. And Talimancers to a lesser extent.
-The stupid costumes that all our characters were forced into instead of having them wear armor. Why does every single one of them but Garrus, Grunt, Zaaed, and Tali look like strippers for various deviant fetishes?
-Making it sexier. For everybody crying about the lack of homosexual relationships and no nipples, the game still managed to have way too much sex in it. How does that work?
-No Mordin
-Praetorians, **** you.

While I apologize for blatantly ignoring the rest of your post, I will point out that a pretty basic element of writing fiction is that creating a new character to perform a role that could easily be occupied by an existing character ultimately serves no purpose but to add extra details for the reader/viewer/player to keep track of and make the work seem less coherent.
And, on a less analytical basis, I just personally liked that they actually gave a squad member a function beyond just being your lackey at that point. It's a small detail, to be sure, but it makes it seem less like the entire world (or galaxy, as it were) revolves around Shepard.

Mass Effect 3 without Thermal Clips
Because apparently its better to wait a few seconds for a gun to overheat rather than ejecting a clip. Plus damn, that lore is really important. Halo did a better job in regards to that.
