This is unlikely to ever occur in our generation and possibly the next. Not only does the broadcast need to reach alien life, but said aliens need to be capable of tracing its point of origin and space travel. For all we know, any sentient life this reaches is less technologically advanced than we are or incapable of reaching Earth through physical means. It's such a tremendous longshot I can only feel Stephen Hawking is being paranoid about worst case scenarios.

I don't believe in alien attacks, far from it. If they have developed such tech to reach us and see us, I am pretty sure they can develop a language translator technology, that would possibly "decode" the messages sent to the aliens. Why would they attack earth, a superfilled human infested junkyard, goes beyond me. There are much better things to conquer in the known universe...

On a sidenote : insulting communists means insulting me. I report those that insult me. Consider this just a warning...

That's a lot of assumptions.  That you would live through the alien invasion, that they'd even want to set up a puppet government, and that they would even let us keep any level of technology.

True, if they where regualar aliens they would probably steal our vast oil supplies and leave. (that was a joke)

But as said it their "communist" (there I said it, go report me ) they would be all like for the common worker and spare us (considering we would work, on their off world spice mines); it would be like a giant coldwar Russia, except run by aliens.

The truth is that dangerous aliens or good aliens are just speculation and i support that we try to find them and see if we can work peacefully. For me it is better than just stay here and do nothing.
