I agree. If they are that advanced, chances are it's only a matter of time before they find us on their own. Best to at least try to let them believe we are not the enemy (if they care). Worse case is that we'll help them find us a few years earlier than they would on their own.
Also you should stop discussing politics or this is going to get locked.
