Actually that's not what the thread is about maybe you should read the original post before you decide to comment somthing that has absolutly nothing to do with the topic ...

I think he read the first post quite thoroughly.

Novel and cinema are different languages in the end and even though one borrows from the other on a normal basis, I see no issue on that. In fact, some of the best films out there were books before.

But there are no good books that were movies before.

Harry Potter series may get close to that. :P

Is "Hollywood" being used to mean the entire movie industry. Neither Avatar nor District nine were made in Hollywood.

I didn't even see the newest Burton movie, mostly because I was broke, and also because I just wasn't sure about Alice... But! Many of his previous movies are favorites. I actually thought Big Fish was quite original.

And there's Harry Belefonte. That, in itself, is redeeming. :)

Not a he, first off. Thanks. :)

Secondly, I'm not sure why you bolded that particular part of my post, as I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the topic is about. Complaining about originality is no different than complaining about "hollywood" in general.

Nor Life of Others; and it´s also a great film from these last years.

I saw alice by burton ...opening weekend actually, I thought it was quite original and kept in the spirit of both alice in wonderland and its lesser know sequel through the looking glass.  it was visually awesome and story was good to boot  like i said earlier it was great and held my intrest for two hours and quite enjoyable.  You might like it given you liked big fish ..another very visual burton movie.   And yeah i didnt win anything but that seems to be the talk of the town on the LNVS section
