City elf reminds me a little of Kill Bill, just shorter. It starts with your wedding being ruined, and then you go kill all those responsible for it, until you can finally behead Bill - ehm, Vaughan.

The best for me was the City Elf. It was fantastic, before I played it Shianni and the Alienage elves were just NPC's now even on playthroughs as other Origins it completely changes my perspective of that part of the game. Also, no other Origins got me so emotionally involved, the sympathy for the elves and the anger at the humans.
The worst is by far the Dalish Origin. No good characters (I don't remember the names of any character other than Tamlen). Speaking of Tamlen, did anyone actually care when he was missing? Because I didn't. The whole Origin fails completely.

Best: Human Noble
I would rank Dwarf Commoner and Dwarf Noble right below it in that order. I really cared about the characters in this origin, so much so that when Howe talked about my mother at the end it actually riled up some anger in me. It was a satisfying kill, which for me is odd because normally I don't get any kind of pleasure from killing a villain in a game and when I kill non-villains I just feel guilty. Tim Curry did a great job.
Worst: Dalish
All of the characters felt like strangers and I didn't care about any of them but they're supposed to be my clan and like family. Perhaps it's because so little time is actually spent with the clan and then you never see them again. Tamlen was the most interesting but that doesn't last long and closure for this particular origin is even worse than city elf origin. It's like an afterthought. Also the reason you join the Wardens from this origin makes no sense to me. "We'll cure your taint by having you drink more taint" - wtf?

Haven't played through much of the game yet, but played through the origins to see them and get the achievements. I would rank them-
City Elf, Female - Wow, dark but this one really grabbed me. I thought my first playthough I'd go with my noble human warrior female, but am sticking with my rogue city elf. Only complaint is that you did not have the choice to "go along"... but they probably figured that might have been pushing it a little TOO far.
.
.
Dwarf Noble - Good twist, love Gorim. I played this one evil and loved it.
Human Noble - A little more predictable but pulled you in too; loved the mom.
Dwarf Commoner - Really felt connected to this character too, though I admit after playing both dwarf origins I don't like dwarves much. I liked Duncan's character the most in this one.
Human/Elf Mage - Good twists and background/information.
.
.
.
Dalish Elf - The four above are all pretty close, but this one just did not pull me in much at all. It felt sort of rushed.

Worst: Dwarf commoner.
Reason: I could see where this origin was going from a mile away.
That's a poor reason, as two of the best origins were even more transparent.
Dwarf Noble: Bhelen was obviously more dangerous than your loud obnoxious brother and had a lot to gain if he could remove 2 birds with one stone. One thing that bothered me about the origin was how I couldn't do anything about his plot despite seeing through it.
Human Noble: Tim Curry's forces were mysteriously delayed and will arrive when the castle is vulnerable? I wonder where this is going...
In fact, the only origin that thew me off was the Dalish one, if only because I didn't know how the Taint works or that magic mirrors could absorb and spread it. It's the only origin where I didn't know what to expect since I knew I'd need to become a Grey Warden but wasn't sure how this ruin would lead to it. The Dalish origin is also the one I didn't particularly enjoy... make of that what you will.
