I have no issues with the Mako itself.

It's the planets that killed it.

Every. Damn. Uncharted. World. Has. ~89. Degree. Cliffs

My gawd I hated that so much. Because pretty much every planet lands you with a sheer cliff between you and the objective.

LMAO!!!!!!!!  your right about the damned   "~89. Degree. Cliffs"

but the mako is a whole lot more better than the HamerHead DLC

Indeed.

Garrus sneezes while inside the Hammerhead. Hammerhead explodes into a million pieces.

Hated the Mako's controls for the 360. Good idea, horrible execution.

why the hell would they use a old fashioned mars rover gone tank yet having other vehicles that can fly and hover as a futuristic vehicle, that's difficult to maneuver, and have impossible physics? why not combine a hover car+armor+guns+cannon or laser missiles+turbo option as a tank or something?:alien:

Yes I did "liked" the Mako. It was a nice breather for me that helped me level up rather quickly.

But I know hell by its name: Nodacrux. I mine every planet for their minerals just for my perfectionistic needs, but the cliffs on this planet are do steep. The Mako only climbs the mountain at certain spots and once I get to a certain mine near the edge of the map, its hard to climb back out. -.-'

But I always had a good laugh when I questioned the lethality of say driving off Noveria's cliffs, driving into lava, or the mines in Bring Down the Sky.

I'd like to know why you die if you fall off the Prothean skyway considering the Mako survives being dropped by the Normandy all the time.

The Mako was more annoying than anything. Doing a 180 degree turn because you drive over a bump too fast, the super slow cool down on the main gun. I liked the exploration, but a lot of the time I would get out of the Mako and use the sniper rifle to take enemies out. Or assault rifle if I was up against a thresher maw.

So I didn't vote. Good concept that I like, but the annoyance factor sometimes overtook the fun of just driving around blowing s**t up.

I allready answered here, but Mako was not annoying, like some are saying. In ME2 mining was annoying. Mako was just used too many times in ME. If in ME3 they combinate Mako & Shuttle & Normandy landing like 1/3 everyone in correct situations, it would be perfect. Gives player feeling of variety.

At first, the Mako was kind of like a breath of fresh air from the shooting elements. But once you care about doing ALL sidequests on unchartered worlds, then it became a pain in the hind-quarters.

But the problems is probably how I used the Mako. I often liked to take shortcuts in the Mako, trying to drive up mountains that are hard to drive over so I can get to the objective.

Loved it. Never had the control issues other people had. Very occasionally got stuck on a mountain or something, but generally it was all good.

Some of the worlds vista's were awesome. Rolling along in a snow storm with the sun setting in the distance, then a Thresher Maw would pop up. It was great. Finding odd little anomalies and little stories.

Yes a lot of the worlds were cut and paste. But dammit, it was great.

PURGE IT WITH FIRE! WITH FIRE!

Exactly! If I wanted a game where I could drive a car into walls all the time I would've bought a race game.
I lack skills to drive vehicles in games so yeah that was very annoying when you have to get somewhere in 40 seconds over a bumpy terrain. I almost threw my laptop out of the window after my 7th try.

the mako was okay, I guess, but the planets where you explored were terrible. Not only was the exterior cut and pasted, and nuts, but the buildings all had one of three layouts. So they sucked. Also the mako was way overpowered could not drive worth a ... and was prone to random changes of direction. In short the side missions were done by a bunch of drunken monkeys.

Can't say I hate the Mako, it got me through some pretty rough terrain. But I rather fight on foot though.

oh ya well what happens after you finish the game then what when I finished ME2 I had nothing to do scan ********* planets and walk around space stations I don't know about you but that pretty gets ******* boring after a while atleast when you where able to land on planets it gave you something to do
but when ME1 was beat they did not let you continue playing I will say this much theres no reason to create another mass effect unless they add a sandbox ablity giving you the freedom explore each planet on a global scale thats what makes mass effect MASS EFFECT without this its just another third person shooter that is'nt worth a tinkers ***** all your doing is paying for the NAME MASS EFFECT

Huskified or not, just finished ME again today and I'm a Mako fan!

Now I'm not looking forward to ME2's lack of vehicle sections (I havn't played it since it came out, there weren't any vehicle sections right? :P). I think when people talk about the Mako, they think primarily about the barren side-quests world they used it on. But what about the main quest sections, where the Mako is used to take you across great big bits of scenery and landscape. Having that slight shift of scale breaks the experience up a little, and I really enjoyed it.

One problem with the Mako that no one seems to bring up is that in some instances the cannon or gun wouldn't fire where the target reticle was. For instance if the enemy was close to the mako so the cannon angle had to be below the horizontal to hit it you couldn't even though you could place the target reticle on the enemy. That was annoying not so much when you were on flat land but it was really noticeable when you were trying to engage an enemy on hilly terrain. If the cannon can't hit a certain spot you should not be able to place the reticle there.

The Mako was great, so long as there wasn't a million mountains, like most worlds. I liked the plot missions with it, and once you get the hang of driving it, it was super fun to fight iwth. Concerning the cannon dosnt fire where you aim, there is a simple reason for this. The reticle moved faster than the actual cannon, so if the canon isn't aligned with the reticle, you are doomed to miss.

Those who hated the Mako, are the same people who I wouldnt trust with a drivers license. I mean, who tries to drive straight up a 89* cliff face without looking for a easier route?
There was only 1 planet that did not have an easy route to all the places you wanted to go, and that was Eletania. Every single other planet DID have an accessible route that could be easily driven up. If you decided not to look for it (30 seconds is all it took me on most worlds), then you have noone to blame but yourself.

Totally agree. I had some issues with the Mako, but that was only when I was trying to drive up the aforementioned 89 degree cliff face.

Elatania was not too bad actually as I recall. Nodacrux was a pain, where there was crashed probe or something in the middle of nearly-unscalable cliffs. Getting in was easy, getting out was not.

yaa I remember that but that always happend on cold planets where it would force ya out of the mako
into a hostil cold planet I always had to return to the normendy because of it but with the way their doing ME3 a mako or hammerhead could be flawless all they need to do is add the feature
come on biowere it's not gonna destroy the franchise to add a sandbox mode

The Mako itself yes, but not the terrain (for the most part anyway).

The only terrain I thought was decent for the Mako was on X57, Luna and very few other planets for various Assignments that would often lead me to a Threser Maw or very close to some base or mine entrance, which was usually flat or nearly flat with a few hills. I hated those horrible "spikes" or cubic, rectangular or whatever other forms in geometry I can think of that apparently can form on alien planets, those made the Mako dance alright, good thing Joker didn't have to drive it!

With that said, the vehicle itself is fun.
