If so, you can just import the game, click custom (instead of accepting the imported face), cycle to the preset, then edit it.

yeah, i mean the cycle presets look. i would do that but ME2 has different presets than ME1
I'm going to have to try this later, and see.
Was quite sure the presets are the same, but since I don't actually use them, I was just assuming.
Maybe it's just due to some of the "pieces" looking different in ME2?
My femshep's haircut, for instance, is the same-ish, but is bigger and glossier. More like a hair helmet.
And the ME1 scars are removed, and replaced with cybernetic scars.

You can never see the Face Code when you import an ME1 character into ME2. If you decide to go with the imported face, the screen with the code never comes up, and there's no face code in the upper corner of the Squad Screen. If you decide to go with a Custom Face, the imported face is completely wiped, and you start off with a preset face. You can go back and select the Imported Face, but you can never slightly alter it; it's all or nothing.
No, I have an ME1 import character and I get the Identity code at the top of the screen.
I can't recall for sure how I got it but I believe if you import your ME1 character, then choose the custom face option. You should see the Identity code for one of the preset faces. If you now go back and choose the accept imported face, I think that does the trick, well to the best of my memory.
EDIT: Doesn't work never mind.

That doesn't work .. 'cos if you actually try the code, you'll see that it's the code for the face you were editing, not the face you imported.
It's the main reason a lot of characters on masseffect2faces have the wrong code.

Ah ok, I've never used the code so I thought it was for the imported face.
