It's...not exactly like most people on the forums can actually tell Bioware's employees any of this face to face.  Can't speak for the others, but I'll be happy to give them my dismayed opinion in person if any of them care to hop a plane over to Boston-land.  Until that happens, though, making an opinion known on the only place where it could be noticed by those it's intended to reach isn't necessarily cowardice, chum.

Its pretty stupid to complain that "trinket" DLC exists. If you don't want it, don't buy it.

If you want something more substantial, then wait.

This is a very good point, but I also think BioWare could have handled it better. CE owners (who I am not should never have to buy the same items mixed in with other. They could have easily put the two hemluts and a character costume together, then sold all CE items in a seperate pack altogether.

It also doesn't help when a developer hints as though the DLC is going to be worth the hype. This latest addition is just a helmut/armor pack. It is not big news and they could have announced what items would be on sale last week. This is a tactic which gave Peter Molenuex or what ever he is called, such a bad rap. He overhypes his content to the point where it cannot be lived up to. Please don't tell me this is what BioWare are trying to learn from.

There is also the fact that the game is not sold to very young children. When you get to a certain age you prefer to know whats coming so that you can decide if you want it, and if its worth looking forward to. This last attempt to hype some DLC failed like a wet fart at a job interview.

That's another thing.  You don't hype something that's not a big deal.  I totally agree.  It's like being told you're going out for a fancy dinner and getting taken to a McDonalds.

Also, where the hell is Dr Pepper that much for a 6-pack? You need to shop around dude.

I consider myself a person who has better things to do than **** about a TWO DOLLAR download. Oh noes I won't cry oversomething pointless. Yeah I'm a fan not a whiney little **** like you.

Seems to me content such as this is meant to attract more first-time purchasers for the game. By now, many of us have played it to death, and new armor or toys simply isn't enough reason to return for another playthrough. But an expansion pack sure would be. *wink, wink*

I really hope they can release content that is more substantial than this in the future. Bioware is quickly becoming the poster child for pointless Mcdlc.

Have fun being the pawn of a soulless corporate machine while I use my well-saved $2 on going to exclusive fancy parties and having sex with exclusive fancy women.

I love posting openly arbitrary statements and having people rage at them.

Kidding of course, but seriously, this is a tense bunch right now.

Hahaha! That's true as well.

DLC is still utter sh*t, though I enjoy the positive spin you're able to put on it.

Looking through this thread, I must say, whoever came up with the "free" Day One DLC scam is a genius.

You see so many people going "Well, some of the DLC isn't really worth it... but then again I got so and so DLC for FREE when I bought the game. That must mean Bioware is good, right?"

Yeah, how incredibly generous of Bioware to give you part of the game you paid for for free. I mean, when I buy a six-pack, and they give me the sixth can FOR FREE, that's when I know I'm getting a deal!

It's gotta be the easiest time ever right now for the gaming industry when you can chop up games, sell half of it for full price, and then release some of the parts of the other half for free and other parts for an inflated cost. And instead of being outraged, the consumers will thank you and happily fork over their money because we have to support Bioware, they're so generous giving us so much DLC for free!

Ah, so that's why there won't be a patch for a no-helmet version of the free, pre-order DLC armor - so we can pay for it, disguised as DLC. Great, only a month ago I predicted that this entire DLC stupidity will overtake even patching... So, I bought (and pre-ordered at that) a brand new CE copy for over 70 bucks, yet I it's obviously not enough, so I have to pay 2$ (more in local currency) to patch an armor I already paid for with the pre-order?!

Thanks, that's great. You know, why don't you (BioWare) make a free patch that allows me to remove the helmet on the Inferno? No, not add the new stuff - just to remove the helmet on something I have.

It's not REALLY just about the single product in particular, it's about the whole DLC system.

What the **** ever happened to real expansions (Dragon Age Origins: Awakening kind of "Did it wrong" but better than DLC for sure)

Bring back the days of well-implemented seamless content packs, Tribunal/Bloodmoon anyone? You know it's a great add-on if the game doesn't feel complete without it.

Of all the gripes I have about DLC, Integration in the game has to be the biggest. Bioware's stuff with the little micro crap isn't particularly bad, but I'll cite another popular example (Even though I actually like the content itself, it's implementation is just horribly awkward) Fallout 3,s Packs.

I mean, seriously, out of nowhere you get a magical homing radio signal that tells you exactly where to go, even when you're fresh out of the vault, at least make us ask around a town or somethin!

Seriously. It's a two dollar item. TWO DOLLAR DLC ITEM. TWO DOLLARS.

It's like seeing a happy meal and getting pissed because the box doesn't have your double quarter pounder, you fatties.

If you already have the armor or think the helmets are stupid because you can't hide them, here's a pro tip: DON'T BUY IT.

GASP.

That would be a big FU to all the people who payed more for the CE, since besides the art book and the tiny comic was the only good thing of value. I and many people would be really pissed off... <_<

Not only are you totally right, but I love the pro tip too, ha ha ha

On one hand, no, they didn't listen to the helmet toggling requests, but they did listen to the powers cooldown requests. All you have to do is think which one you consider more important: seeing Shep's baby blues off of the Normandy too, or your Adept spending less time cooling off in the shadows...

If the Collector stuff was released FREE I would agree with this.  If people have to pay for the items as DLC I dont see the issue.  I know several people that wanted the CE but couldnt get it because it was soldout.  Now they'd have the option to pay for the armor/weapon they couldnt have gotten before.  People that got the Collectors Edition still got the art book and the comic in their purchase.  If you want to argue that it wasnt worth the cost go ahead, but letting people get the Collectors items *at cost* isnt a FU to anyone that got the CE on release.
