It's incomprehensible to me why someone would want to pay money for trivial items in a single player game that they probably beat several times already..

When are we getting more real DLC?

I don't have issue with the content of the DLC but Bioware's PR dept really sucks. They over hyped the Bazaar with a countdown. They ignored the forums and ran to IGN and other sites to announce the delay with Kasumi. Then overhype this by calling it ''exciting dlc new'' and ''on the horizon''. The games may be good, but they suck ass in terms of running a business.

Just downloaded them.

What do I think?

They're not bad.

@Cerberus1701 The members negative emotional response to the DLC is warranted since the DLC is just mostly a revamp of armor and weapons that most already have from pre-orders of the collectors edition, and or promotion items from game retailers. All they did was revamp some of the stats and release it as a new DLC.

Also they hyped it a bit by promoting this a week ahead of time when all it is, is a revamp of already existing items with no new graphic components, and they want 160MP's for it. Kasumi was a good DLC, and well worth the cost. Other DLC that came with the Cerberus network for free was great, since if it's free you can't really complain about the content. But the alternate costume pack and this DLC is just a nickle and dime scheme in my opinion. But on the other side for people that never got the pre-order stuff I can see why they would like it.

But calling a member of the community a whiner for just telling the blunt honest truth about his/her feelings about the product being offered is unjustifiable, and unneeded.

Nuff said.

I accept some negativity regarding the Inferno armor. I'm also in the "already have it" boat. This just means though that I will have access eventually to the armor and weapons I couldn't preorder. Some people didn't get Inferno, either, so this works for them.

However, I think the reaction, the near rage over it is a completely disproportional response. It has been the same with virtually  all of the DLC, from Kasumi to Firewalker...and Firewalker was free.

Well, calling him a whiner is MY "blunt, honest truth" (i.e. OPINION...just as his on the DLC is.) So if he has his right to expression, I have mine. You might now say, "Well you're talking about a person, to a person" So is he. In this case he's not just choosing not to buy it, which is his absolute right, he's basically making a point to insult everyone responsible for creating it.

Why is that not "unjustifiable and unneeded?" Why is that defended?

"exciting new dlc on the horizon" is not overhyping. BW is allowed to, and should advertise their products and content.

I was disappointed by this DLC because everyone wants substantial dlc, not micro, but I was disappointed because my own hopes and imagination, not because BW misled me or falsely advertised.

Go buy a dictionary and read it. The words you use are apparently beyond your current comprehension. I didn't whine, I stated that the DLC was trash... which it is.

I have purchased new every single console Bioware Game, and loved every one. I have also purchased every DLC released for those games, except the costume pack and this one.

The costume pack was not, in fact, garbage. It wasn't what I wanted, so I didn't buy it. However, I can see how it would be attractive to a fair number of people.

This DLC? It's crap. 1/3 of the items is literally redundant to anyone who got the game on Amazon, and the other two are in the exact same vein as the Dr. Pepper DLC items.

This should have been a free DLC, but it's not because they are trying to see how much they can gouge players. It's not about value, it's about maximizing profit by selling a BS, substandard DLC pack.

Again, it's not whining to state that something is low quality. This fits the very definition of bad value. 33% literally worthless if you already bought the game from one of the countries largest retailers, and 66% worthless if you happened to have had a couple Dr. Peppers in the last 5 months.

Get off your high horse. Bioware is a great developer and their games are amazing... but that doesn't change the fact that this unique example of one of their products is complete and utter drivel.

Not everyone is perfect and not everyone got the armor. So good for them to start giving out the armors to people who didn't get it maybe this pack wasn't meant for everyone. Maybe its meant for other people. Did anyone think bioware cares about their other fans. The ones who missed out on the other stuff. Does everything about EA have to be about a profit. I think bioware should charge them for the armor even though its not the terminus or collectors. This way everyone gets to have the cool stuff. The price is only the penalty for not pre ordering which it should be.  Seriously. Image IPB

AGREE.
This is very sad, that the site for fans, BIOWARE creation, I mean HERE is the most empty in 'news' section.
This is the first place I seek information, and for nothing, bcs they are not here but other places in the net.

Not strange at all.  They've done it before, and they'll do it again.  Like I've said before they run their company very poorly.  I wonder if they even have a PR dept or just put **** up whenver they feel like it wherever they want.

Well, it's funny. So many people saying that they won't buy it and PCs can't buy it.

Anyway, to be fair this wasn't hyped up all that much. For something like this, though, I'd prefer no hype at all and just have it pop up one day, an unexpected little side dish. Take it if you like ... or not. What I really would have preferred was a time line for some of the bigger DLC planned. Problem w/ that is BW would then be expected to meet that time line, which, fair or not, is unrealistic.

EDIT: Though I suppose asking for DLC w/out the hype is equally unrealistic.  :?

@Tooney

That's a cop-out imho. So people got the pre-order bonus, thus they get redundant DLC? Why not include both armor's and then give those who did pre-order a reason to get it?

I would at least be tempted to buy the DLC if I could get Terminus armor, but by only including Inferno, it guarantees that I wouldn't be interested (can't speak for anyone else, but from looking at the response I'm not alone).

The helmets can look sweet all they want, but at that point it's really only another costume pack. I'm not negating the value of the programming it takes to put those items in the game, but in this specific example the packaging for this product is just plain poor.

I just realized, that these helmets totally hide eyes/face, and dr.pepper items have exactly same stats with less obstructions. Full armors are stupid and totally useless.

No money from me this time, BioWare! I would buy even another Alternate Apperance Pack, but something thats worse in every way than my actual items? No way!

If you release helmet toggle patch, that works like one in the original Mass Effect, then i may think about buying this pack.

Would it kill them to make an announcement on their own forum that's stickied and close it to replies?

61% aren't buying, and (including buyers) 82% are dissapointed
