x% not buying? Yeah, they'll pay attention to that, but I'd honestly be very curious to see final sales numbers on this DLC pack (not that we will, but it would be nice).

The hostility towards this "mini-DLC" is above my level of reasoning. It's not only completely optional (Doesnt affect gameplay in any way), but its also priced less than an pack of chewing gum. Your fears of marketing overdoing the mini-DLC's are for me illogical, as what would 100 appearance packs, same package different wrapping or form affect me? If they dont force you to buy as in overpowered stats and other such logical unpleasant business trends why would the ability to choose bother me?
And this whole pack is about 6 hours of work for the game designers (personal approximation, generous on the time as well), so this respective mini-DLC did not steal production time for any real DLC being prepared (If one is prepared, keeping my hopes at the level where surprise and dissapointment are kept at minimum).
Gaming is a business in the end (since and before 2001.TM), those in search of romance, an social structure based on morality and utopian views are better off reading an book, satisfaction guaranteed.
That being said Electronic Arts disguists me as an whole.

The problem is that people (myself included) want more story-oriented DLC, and we're miffed that they're using time and resources to build cheap item packs instead.leeboi2 wrote...

It's also irritating that you can's just buy 160 MS points. They come in those bundles. So you're actually paying more, and then you end up with some spare points that end up collecting dust. Yeah, you can save them up and buy the next DLC but I'd rather just be able to say, "charge my account for the exact cost of this particular download."
Yeah, I know they're supposed to offer more variety with the MS point bundles later. But we're talking about now.

To be honest, I wouldn't actually mind if they did not re-release limited release items, but ripping off those that were actually entitled to them is really low, even for EA.
Ah well, it's not like they would bother to react on that....which says a lot about how much they really care about the "community".

Think about it this way. What if there are 5 more item packs? Would you rather have cool, useful items, that are good for a variety of players... or three more after this that also have a pre-order bonus included?
It isn't the cost which is the issue. I think most of us are happy to pay even the 800MSP if it's good content. Again, citing Kasumi here, but I was happy to pay that for the DLC, and it was very short.
This is first DLC pack I've seen them put out which actually had an item in it that was literally useless/redundant for any percentage of the player base, and that is lame.

I still don't understand why they don't include this stuff with story dlc. Toss in a couple things with Hammerhead. Include the armor with Kasumi. Yada yada yada. Any other game developer does this with their dlc - a reward for completeing some mission.

That would be a good idea. I dunno, I guess they're just trying to keep shoveling out cheap crap so people will buy it. Oh sure, it's only a couple of dollars, but that adds up after a while, especially if you're buying every little thing.eternalnightmare13 wrote...

You know, for whoever said that Helmet toggle ruins immersion, I have to disagree (I would still kill for helmet toggle though). There's a lot of body language too, so even though you can't see your face, you can still see the meaning and the emotion behind things.

2) Is the helmet togglable?
If just one of those questions can be answered with "yes" i may think of getting it.

then dont buy it. simple as that. im sorry but I am really failing to see what the fuss is all about.
*sigh* this is one of the reasons why I dislike forums in general. you all sound like a bunch of kids that were given a present and threw back saying "its not what I wanted waaaaaah!"
buy it dont buy, EA could care less. and BIOWARE is just trying to add variety to the characters, cuz at the end of the day ladies and gentlemen this is a RPG and variety is important. so sorry they cant cater for everyones individual needs.
I support EA to the fullest and I believe BIOWARE did right by joining them.
and thats all i gotta say
thank you and good nite
