On a positive note, Bioware is releasing information on a new DLC, I guess the Equalizer was just intended to give us some more armor.
Where is the proof of this "new DLC" you are talking about?

It made the loading screen freeze twice in the beginning of two different missions, after having downloaded the DLC, but other than that, I've got no other technical issues.PARAGON87 wrote...

I really wouldn't worry. I have only seen about one or two people talking about damage. That's out of the thousands of people on the forums here (and maybe the 27 that downloaded it).
Personally I'm not going to download it; $2 for two visors and a pre-order incentive armor that I could've gotten for free? And there's a slight chance it might ruin my ME2 disk?
Pass.

this is the point where Bioware have screwed up! the gameplay of ME2 is obviously better than ME1 but they made a big mistake by limiting the amount of upgradable weapons and armour like ME1. any additional armour or costumes is purely cosmetic and useless, no way in hell im paying for useless stuff.
i completed ME2 on insanity with only what came with the game at the start.
Seriously Bioware u are letting us all down with this ****!

I agree to an extent, the way the weapon and armour was limited in ME2 just screams "DLC cash cow" to me, and truth be told I wouldn't mind too much if the DLC weapons and armour came with missions to aquire them.
Instead we get a crappy email from TIM saying look what I sneaked into your locker when you wern't looking. Never mind the fact that he's mad at me as myself and the entire crew of the Normandy have just finished telling him to F-off and run off whith his multi billion/trillion credit warship.

It's implied that the email is from when you first get the New Normandy.

Which just goes to show how out of touch and uncaring about continuity and immersion Bioware really is.
Every time I board the Normandy I check my emails and look in my locker. For the whole game the items haven't been there and then all of a sudden *poof* as if by magic the armour appears.
How much thought and effort would it have taken to place the items in a shop on Omega? Or found in a crate on one of the recruitment worlds, with an email off Liara or somebody else neutral saying something along the lines of "I don't know if you're interested in this but look what I just found out about."
The way the DLC has been integrated is sloppy at best.
Even the Kasumi DLC - which I really enjoyed - was integrated sloppily - how did people walking past not notice what Kasumi was saying through the advertising stand?

So you would rather force them to make you start an entire new game in order to gain the DLC you just bought. Some people might be in the middle of their first play through. It's not really that big of a continuity error.. just armor and a few weapons.
Beside that note, I'm not paying for this DLC, but I don't really care about it. If you don't want it, just don't buy it. Even if it is free, chances are I still wouldn't use this stuff. Bioware has given us more free DLC than most game companies give, be happy. People tend to become spoiled when free DLC is given out...
