I dont give a damn about "contructive" when it comes to talking about BW...Why? Because they NEED to be ripped on for making the retarded ass decision to hook up with EA. Im not a passive person....Im not even what you'd call "nice"....You want me to be PC about something? Tch, yea, good luck with that, I dont do PC. It's the consumer's right to express whatever discontent they want to whenever something doesnt live up to their standards (such as this recent excrement pack.) Remember, the customer is always right.
clearly you have never worked in retail....The customer is always right my ass. %90 of the time the customer is wrong and we have to abide by his indignant ass because he wants to throw a tantrum about however he feels he has been slighted. consumers are stupid plain and simple. Don't like it? then don't buy it. problem solved. You got your money's worth for buying the ME2 disc. Sit down, Shut up, and let people who want to spend thier money on this enjoy it or not.
Actually I have lol...And that's why I have that philosophy...The customer knows what they want and it's your job as the CSA to make sure the customer gets what they want. Again, what right do you have telling me to "sit down and shut up" lol...Last time I checked I live under the 1st amendment which entitles me to free speech. Most customers I deal with, don't know what they want. They really have no clue, and when they find something they do want, they want to know why it can't be half the price, have a lifetime guarantee, delivered in twenty five minutes and why I can't lick their toe jam off while they wait.

Careful there, you're trotting very thinly along that razor's edge of a "communistic" attitude. "The customer doesnt know what they want" Soooooo you're saying YOU know what they want better than they do? If so, that's VERY arrogant of you.

No I mean, they walk up to me and say "I don't know what I want, can you help me?"
I'm a horticulturalist and provide assistance with garden design and planning. Most of my questions start with "I'm looking for something, thats going to be green, and hide a fence." do you know how many species of plants could fit that category?
Edit: Then they find something they do like, then que above mentioned issues. They'll carry on about how the saw it somewhere else cheaper, then they'll say the service was terrible and they saw staff memebrs lazing around out the back smoking and couldn't get any help and any other lies they feel they would like to make up. Even though the service was fantastic, the prices are good, the stock is exclusive and no-one smokes.

Well, if they specifically say "I dont know what I want..." that's a different story. However, some of us that are complaining about this DLC DO know what we want in regards to crap like this. The chief complaint has been mainly of having to actually PAY for this kind of content. (Meaning it merely being some new armor pieces etc.) Not only that, but it is actually screwing with some people's Xbox's/Discs upon downloading it, which in turn pisses them off that they had to pay for something that just F'd up their console and/or disc.
I havent had this problem because I refuse to pay to download a few pieces of armor. Yes, I can afford it, but it's the principle of the matter and hence, I believe, the reason some (if not most) of the folks that are angry about this DLC are angry about it. The Firewalker package was bigger than this and it was free and took more work to constuct than simply adding in a few pieces of gear. So, why not make the excrement pack...err....Equilizer Pack free as well?
Now, if there was a short mission etc. to go along with those visors etc. in order to obtain them then yes, I'd say it's justified in placing a price on it....If it is just simply dropped into our inventory (or armory as the case may be) then no, I dont believe we should have to pay for it.

Oh I wasn't worried about the DLC, I just hate the saying the 'customer is always right'. The customer is allowed to like or dislike something, but that doesn't necessarily make them right. Especially when they use that line to abuse the system, and ESPECIALLY when they use it to treat workers like garbage.
As for the DLC, I'm all for differeing opinions with it. I think it is something that needs to find a balance and people need to be vocal about what their likes and dislikes are about it - opinions equal market research.

I understand your thinking I suppose.....But, you do realize, as minute as it, that "the customer is allowed to dislike or dislike something but doesnt necessarily make them right..." sounds like a bit of an oxymoron right? As for myself, and "abusing the system" the only reason I am so harsh on BW is because of their association with EA. If you dont know the horror stories, do some quick searching and Im sure you'll find them. When a company has a track record like EA does, they deserve every bit of negative treatment they get.

Nah, it's not an oxymoron. I'm referring to my workplace and the customers. They want a hardy plant, but they take one they like and ignore recommendations and warnings, come back in three months because it's dead and claim they were given the wrong plant by a staff member. That's where my issue is. The customer was not right, but is now claiming they should get a refund because 'the customer is always right' type scenarios.Aradace wrote...

I'm not referring to you 'abusing' the system. I'm referring to my retail environment history. Seriously, everything I have said has had nothing to do with EA, BioWare, UbiSoft etc. My argument was against the 'customer is always right' saying. It really irks me.

Wish I had articulated what I wanted to say like this lol...."The Customer is always right" was merely the only way I could express it at the time. But I agree, I think. I still dont agree that this DLC is worth having to pay for and again, is the original source of mine, and seemingly a few others, discontent with how it was handled. I dont mind paying for some content, if it's worth the money. If it's not, then it shouldnt have a pricetag on it. Had my computer not been in the shop when the Appearance packs were added, I'd probably have ****ed about those too....Probably.

1) It is my job to sell you the product of "my" company...while also assissting you with utmost care and respect
2)You are coming to me I am not coming to you therefore the customer should research what they are buying before they go and make an unwise purchase. Why is it my problem you (again, relative term) did not know exactly what you were buying?
-You bought Biowares game and therefore get the option of purchasing post release content. You can b*tch till you turn blue in the face, buy it or don't like I said...Bioware is still an industry leader in actually listening to its fans
3)Your seriously gonna bring up the first amendment argument and then ask me what gives me the right to tell you what I did...well sir I really don't know what to say to that, literally I am speechless.
edit: p.s. you think EA is bad, they have really turned thier bad practices around...you wanna direct your gaze towards Activision if you want to see the real Demon

Yes yes, a vicious circle...We all know that song and dance. So basically, let me get this strait. You believe it is NOT your responsibility to give the consumer information if they lack information prior to the purchase. If they ask you for recommendations or concerns you have about a product and you dont tell them and/or lie to them and they purchase it, then YES it IS your fault and you were ****** poor in your job. Your JOB is to make the the consumer is well informed before their purchase and know all of the possible pros and cons and to make sure they are comfortable with what they are about to purchase. Yet, if you purposely omit any of this and simply push a product simply because you work for them, then I suspect that perhaps you would be a prime employee to work for someone like EA. Otherwise, it's just poor customer service on your end.

I personally liked the DLC. I didn't expect much. So I wasn't dissapointed. I loved the Kasumi DLC but I realize that takes time and effort so they can't release stuff like that every week. So, I don't mind if there are little DLC's as "filler" in the meantime. But that's me. If others don't like it, they should say so.
My problem is what I saw earlier on the thread after the DLC came out. And that was an attempt at mob rule in order to suppress any positive responses. If people are entitled to complain about the DLC, then I am equally entitled to laud it.
But in general, I don't think this thread will have a HUGE impact either way. BW probably uses a ton of means to gauge customer reaction. The big thing they probably look at is the number of downloads on LIVE. If they see hundreds of people downloading something, a few dozen complaining on a message board will probably have a negligable impact.

Ok...It's not the DLC in general that I dont like...I think it actually looks pretty cool...What I...and some others have a problem with...is the fact that we have to PAY for a few pieces of armor. Kasumi, worth paying for....Anything that does anything other than drop a few pieces of equipment into our 'inventories"...Worth paying for....Anything that simply does just that, NOT worth paying for.

Yeah but I think it was worth paying for. So I paid for it. If others think it is not worth paying for, they won't pay for it. If BW isn't making a profit off of it, they'll either discontinue it or change it.
If people want to truly influence consumer behavior, then like I said, they should organize. Yelling in here will only accomplish so much. (And I don't mean you are yelling, I mean in general.)

ok since in general you apparently feel like being an ass hat after I feel like I was pretty respectful. lets do this jackass.
Yeah I am that incompetent and hate my job so much (I work video game retail) that I never give my opinion or help my customers if they are parents and don't play games. No I wasn't promoted to a store director after working for the company for a mere 2 years and No I have no regular customers because I apparently don't know how to do my job.
/s
but clearly you have a handle on how this whole retail thing works.
I guess considering you feel you shouldn't have to pay for something that cost bioware resources to make, you should just start a new company and see how that business model works for you...to be a bit more accurate you should only charge your customers for items THEY feel are worth it. yeah good idea buddy.
Let me explain something to you. When you pay $65.24 for your game you get everything in that package. Anything after that YOU pay for. Or it is at the whim of the publisher/developer. Or is this another one of those things in your magic land that when you buy something you should just get all the upgrades for free? let me know when you start that business I could use some things that I do't really feel I should pay for.

What you fail to see is that Im not saying I shouldnt pay for ANY content...Had you actually taken the time to read my posts instead of getting all butt hurt, you'd see that. Its the fact that we have to pay for something like a few pieces of equipment that take LESS effort to make and implement...And DONT have to pay for something like the Firewalker that takes MORE effort to implement. Again, Kasumi, I DIDNT MIND PAYING FOR. But, you'd know that had you actually read my posts. It's the fact that something like this should have been put on the "free" side with the Firewalker and such instead of having to pay. Again, let me say it one more time so that your head can wrap around it....I....DONT....MIND.....PAYING....FOR......CONTENT....THAT.....IS.....ACTUALLY....WORTH.....PAYING....FOR....Get it now? Or are you still too sodding slow to get it? If you still dont get it after this, then I feel sorry for you and can do nothing else for you. Secondly, if you didnt want to be viewed as a dick who doesnt help his customers, then perhaps you should have omitted the "Its not my repsonibility" part.
Yes, there are people who think it IS worth paying for. But, there are others like myself that think it isnt. Im not saying it needs rectified...Im saying that in the future, they realllllly need to think about what is worth paying for, and what isnt.
But seeing as how you're too ****ing slow to see that's what Im actually saying...Then this whole point is moot
