First of all:
If you haven't reached the final fight (Archdemon) and/or completed the game I suggest  you stop reading this else the ending (or some tactics) might be spoiled for you. I hold no responsability if you keep reading after my warning!

At the final battle with the Archdemon there are 2 ballistas that you can use, I found them very useful after having to restart the battle 5 times (played on hard then on normal). Unfortunately you can't use the ballistas until the very end, I managed to take 50% of the Archdemons health down before the ballistas broke. My question is quited simple. Who can repair the balistas and what skill do you need to have? 
Asking this since I am doing my second playthrough and this time I actually want to complete the game on hard but even on normal, after the balistas broke down, I had a really tough time. I planned to end the fight without calling reinforcements at all, but I couldn't. The dragon was a pain in the ass, his waves of darkspawns were a pain...I was forced to call for backup in the end.
