As a side note, the marriage ceremony happens six months after Origins but before the events in Awakenings. I played a HNF who married Alistair the King (much to his surprise!). The epilogue balloon said we were married six months after the coronation then the epilogue went on to mention Amaranthine and the roving bands of darkspawn still ravaging the countryside.

On the wedding aspect, well, that would be cool for those of us who could marry the King/Queen, execpt there's only one origin who can do that unless you're playing with a mod on the PC. What about my fem!Amell, who is chancellor and mistress to the King? What cool video would I get? Would the Chancellor ending override the Queen ending if they decided to be both? You're looking at 20+ potential endings. I have another Amell who is going to go wander the world with Alistair and Zevran, how do you plan for that? All things being equal, it would have taken waaaay too many resources to do all that.
It would, however, make an awesome mod.

Yes, something like that.Marso40 wrote...
I'm not complaining about the end of Origins- I thought it was okay. If I were to make one change, it would be a super-short cutscene before the slideshow, with the camera following your character as the doors open and the crowd beyond catches sight of him/her and roars their approval, then immediately fade to white and cut in the slides.

With the PC stepping outside in front of a huge crowd of applauding people or something with the PC standing there looking kinda uncomfortable and awkward.
Those scenarios seem to be the standard for how these scenarios play out anyway.

I would have liked a better segueway into the crowd- you know, just an opening the doors and walking into sunlight sort of thing.

I disagree slightly. They created six origin stories to begin with so it's not unreasonable for them to create six different crowd presenting endings, or six dlc for each origin and how your preparing for your role as Commander for Amaranthine. DLC of one hour play for each origin. Not that difficult, time consuming yes, cost effective...probably no. I can still hope.
If you're a dwarf...did you return to orzammar, city elf....help rebuild alienage, and so on.

This. I was happy, but this would've made it extra awesome.

But like I said, it goes beyond the Origins. I play a human female mage who is mistress and Chancellor to the King. That's five different variables right there. Granted, the 'I don't know' option can probably share the 'seeing the world'. You'd have to consider, at the very least, the following:
a) race
c) gender
d) Landsmeet decision (purely in regards to Alistair, Anora, or Alistair/Anora)
e) boon
From there, for females in a relationship with Alistair, it branches three ways: active, non-King romance, mistress (thus adding an Alistair hardened variable) and Queen. For human noble males, you'd have to see whether they became consort or not. You have to figure who would stand on the dias with you. No-one? The ruling party? The ones who fought against the Archdemon with you? Whatever three you asked, or everyone? Would there be differences if you're in an active romance with someone? Would it only be a love interest?
It's long and complicated. It would, however, be awesome if someone would want to take the time to create that mod. >.> I would do it, but I don't know the mechanics, I can only write dialogue and such. :/

I agree, long and complicated however the builds for the areas are already there for this build of the game. This could work but would be time consuming. Regardless of origin every player has to make that choice of ruler.

I ended up importing a different character only to be disappointed on that one as well, but at least not to the extent of the political marriage import. She leaves the landsmeet telling Alistair she's going to be trying for a baby with someone else, talks to that particular someone else who agrees to stay since the marriage is just political, goes off to rebuild the grey wardens with said someone else... Awakening comes, Zevran's gone, Alistair is way affectionate and calling her a minx, and I'm just shaking my head and wondering why.
I know they can't take all endings into account, but still, disappointing.

You could add a cut scene with the warden surrounded by cheering crowds as he or she exits the throne room, but how should it be shot? Some people envision themselves smiling happily, accepting the gratitude of the adoring crowds. Others imagine themselves as sad, tired and weary heroes and that requires the cut scene to be shot in a completely different manner. How can you make the game differ between them?
What you ultimately seek is an end that captures the feelings you put into the game, but the only way to do that is probably to present things in a way that leaves a lot of things open instead.

I don't think you would have to. You know you're supposed to go out and let the crowds see their hero so why would you be all mopey and scowling? Really bad taste. Regardless of how you feel, the occasion pretty much mandates smiling and waving. You could add a cut scene with the warden surrounded by cheering crowds as he or she exits the throne room, but how should it be shot? This is something that I'd love to see DLC for; just to see the marriage ceremony and how hubby and I settle into life at the palace. Is my warhound busy cruising the kennels? Must have been one heck of a short honeymoon with me running off to Amaranthine to battle more dark spawn. Hmmmm, is Anora still in the dungeon? I'd love to find out the answer to this question!!!
Such is the life of royalty. If you aren't running off to put down a rebellion, or slay darkspawn, then you're going on progress to visit all your nobles and remind them why it's a bad idea to rebel.....(plus they pay for your food, drink and lodging and saves your treasury).
