So the damage powers have a base damage and a multiplicator for certain defenses/health. Concussive Shot does 3,5 times the normal damage against Barriers, Reave and Warp do double damage against Barriers and Armor and Overload/Energy Drain double damage against Shields and Synthetic's Health. Am i right so far? What are the values for Incinerate?

Check out the Mass Effect 2 Gameplay Data thread (stickied in this forum)
Incinerate deals 2.4x vs. armour, and 1.5x vs shields ('cos it's a tech power) ..

Thanks. Should have thought of that myself.

It doesn't say that in the gameplay thread. It says incinerate deals 2.4x to armor, and all other tech powers deal 1.5x to shields. It doesn't mean incinerate deals 1.5x to shields, because incinerate is not part of "all other tech powers". It was already mentioned.

Sure about that? I was under the impression Incinerate has a multiplier on shields. Seems to do decent damage against them, anyway.

Hmm. I might have to test that later ...

I'm only sure the gameplay info thread doesn't make it clear whether incinerate has a multiplier on shields or not. I'm interested in hearing Tlazolteotl's results after testing (could do it with evolved dominate on a target that uses shields and on a target that uses barriers, then use incinerate on both and compare the damage).

It's 11:30pm, and I have a video processing with 80 minutes remaining, so I'll have to test it tomorrow.
Was gonna hack a loki mech with NG+ with no upgrades. If incinerate doesn't get a bonus, overload should be twice as fast.

Ok i tested it, used level 3 dominate (350 shields) on an eclipse initiate and level 3 ai hack on a loki mech. Incinerate did the same amount of damage to both shields and barriers (a bit less than 1/3 of the protection went down with heavy incinerate).

Well damn. Now I feel better about taking points out of Incinerate.

Was just about to test it, but it's done ... oh well.
Still going to keep using incinerate vs shields, though. I find the cc aspect (stagger if defences up; sets on fire if defences breached) more useful than overload's.
As well, I can't find the points on my engineer .. I'd get incineration blast early, but can't justify getting overload 3 over passive or drone.
