Just when it looked like I would win this battle Branka managed to get to a lyriam vein and suddenly I was fighting 5 or 6 healthy Brankas.  Dwarves are not supposed to have magic so how is this possible?   Is this a glitch in the game as I havn't seen it reported before? Posted Image

That is supposed to happen. It's a tough fight.

I've seen it once before. If you defeat one of "her", everyone dies. Probably a glitch.

Nope, that is indeed the second phase of the fight.

She will begin going for the lyrium nodes and split into multiples.

Trick is to either consume the nodes, or to disable her when she makes for one of the said nodes.

Alternatively, you could just grin and bear it :D

It is not magic, it is the Force. Branka is a Jedi. :wizard:

Like eucatastrophe said, take you mage and use the lyrium before Branka does. :)

I thought Branka practiced ninjutsu while waiting for more bait to set off traps.

You don't have to worry about the multiples....you can tell who is the real Branka...just keep going for her. If you have walking nightmare as a spell, cast it at the multiples..( try to include the real Branka ).they will fight each other. :)

I usually send my mage around early in the fight to soak up all the lyrium nodes. By the time Branka is worn down enough to want to use them...oh well.

One spell inferno if you cast that in the area branka gets dropped in 2-3mins.

They aren't really that dangerous--usually they die in one or two swings each.

Yeah, my mage just ran around snorting up all the good stuff before Branka could get there...

My templar just killed the first one he got a hold of and didn't worry about the lyrium. My party took down the golems one by one, purposely saving Branka for last, and by the time she started multiplying, my party had only her to worry about, and I had one or two golems assisting. She didn't last long.

Yikes you guys make me feel like a total wimp - I've gone off to gain a few levels and will come back when I am feeling brave.

Fights like this may or may not be easier if you are controlling the tank and taunt whenever it's up, while keeping an eye on your allies to make sure they're not taking damage.  My tank was my pc (templar/champion), around lv 18 or so and pimped out with the best tanking gear at that point.  I'm not sure how this would turn out if just let the A.I. control the tank, but it helps to have all of your enemies focused on one target, and make sure your tank can take it.  High dexterity wins out over high constitution.

You're not a whimp, Branka is a ginormous pain in the backside and the fight is meant to be difficult. I know how you feel, I hate it when she duplicates herself... as if one of her isn't bad enough...crazy dwarf.

Well, Branka is the best smither on all the world, she just know how to use the Lyrium for get "special effects" if a mage try to learn the trick will end bad for him (Natural Lyrium after all)

I just played that fight for the first time, the difficulty took me completly by suprise. I ended up with me and Sten spamming different bombs, the cooldowns arent shared so we tossed like 5 each in about five seconds and nothing was left standing.

Except, you can't get out of there, unless you've saved before you went in. Which i didn't. So now I'm stuck. Can't win the fight... Can't go back... Just great :(.  Tried 10 times or so. When Branka spilts, it's over for me. What now? I start over or throw the damn game in the bin?

I see others say it's like a walk in the park to defeat her. Not really a great help, unless one have the same level with the same spells and equitment. I guess i chose all the wrong stuff, wrong party and wrong spells.

:(:(:(

try telling us who is in your party and exactly what spells your magic users have. Maybe someone can figure a way to get you out of there.

Sorry for my rant. I just did it. In attempt 15 or so. Prevented Branka to go to the lyrium.
My party was me (Rouge, human), Morrigan, Allistar and Ograhn. I accutally had both me and Allistar left in the end. Trick was I forgotten to give them the best amour in the inventory

In my first playthrough, it was the Broodmother who reminded me to upgrade my companions' armor, and it was Branka that really made me rethink how to use tactics. Up until that part I'd been using the default tactics. It makes such a huge difference!

And then I felt quite silly for not trying it before.
