This is a must have ... does anyone else play thru RtO more than 3 times once as a Mage, Warrior and Rogue and then again doing something different like use only tanks or only rogues. Thats what I call replayability. I went back to Fallout 3 to wait and had to stop after I remembered point blank pistol shots did not drop enemies. Some games are just worth waiting for and DAO is one of them..  Try taking a character in that has not leveled up!!!!

Great idea to let us play the role of the Darkspawn... then I look forward to the future DLC's "Return of the Werewolf" and "Revenge of the Giant Spiders"... I have a small hope that its just a bad joke.

Yes because a different perspective for the simple sake of fun is never a good idea... And do you have any idea how hard some people are for a werewolf mod?

Some people are hard for werewolves? And I thought my fetishes were awkward.

Holy stage diving Jesus Christ!
There is going to be a werewolf mod AND shifter will be fixed? Seriously? You are not ****ting me are you cause that will make me cry, and no one wants to see a grown man cry. Holy crap, this will be the best dlc dragon age will have for me.

Eh, just means you're not as weird as some of us. I personally think it would be great to have a monster class that works instead of the much failed shifter spec.

Next DLC is "Devil May Care" where you play a Desire Demon who uses her *charms* to enthrall a small town. You have the ability to control Templars and summon Fade Demons to do your bidding. Your armor is limited to little, scant, faint and thong.

I am sure they won't leave Dargar's fetish out.
Orlesian Boot Lick! Then he too can have pretty feet with Leliana. I'd hate to be a freak with a DLC when his awkward fetish goes unanswered.

It's scheduled for release on 360 on May 18th, PC probably the same and PS3 probably 20th.

Thanks. I guess we were just waiting for the announcement today then.

Hmmm, not sure what to make of this dlc. I'll wait and see. Would be nice to slap Morrigan around for lots of reasons.

Not what I was hoping for. Reusing the same assets but playing from a different perspective isn't that exciting to me. At least they aren't asking much for it. Probably the first major DLC I will be skipping.

I wonder if we are really ever going to see the type of DLC that was promised prior to release. The kind of thing that adds more options for the main campaign.

I think this dlc could go either way. Totally depends on how they implemented it. We'll see I guess

I wouldnt buy this DLC, you'll probably have to uninstall it or it will f*ck up the next expansion. Can't believe people are seriously considering buying this DLC after what happened with Awakenings *which is still not fixed*. I find it retarded that Bioware chose to make a DLC rather than patch Awakenings.

Ummm, I think the "playable darkspawn" idea was to have a side-flipping darkspawn (kind of like the Messenger) join your party.

Don't think anybody was expecting this.

So we get to play the "other side," attacking & killing the people of Denerim? It's Dungeon Keeper, but I find this one less funny.

And it apparently is set in some kind of alternative universe/timeline where our Warden never existed, YET finishing it "unlocks" something in Awakening. Yay?

On the bright side, as an Ogre, I finally get to USE Grab instead of having it used ON me.

Man oh man oh man one thought keeps going through my head.... "Horsie Armor Round 2" ...

Worst news of all: I really dread that the "Darkspawn Chronicles" title means this is the first of a series.

BIo, we get it. This was an absolutely clever way to release new content without having to bring back a single VA other than whatever you use to make the "hnh hnh hnh" sound the unintelligent darkspawn make. Oh and the screams of the massacred people.

But, man oh man oh man ... I really am dreading if this is the start of a trend. Especially as there's not the least bit of a hint of an associated patch with this ... module.

Can't cure new toy syndrome, ignore the failings.

In any case I think the perspective proposed in the DLC will be a refreshing change of pace, sort of. I wonder exactly how running over the same terrain again and again will work out. I mean multiple playthroughs aside. Doesn't anyone else develop a stale taste? Awakenings at least introduced new terrain no doubt some recycled statics but at least exploration was fresh. To trounce around the same hallways we did before doesn't strike me as... well, new and exciting I guess is how I would put it.

Still hoping my worries will be allayed and I'm just being negative about it. Be sure that whoever buys this reviews it for us!:P

I'm not going to sugar-coat: this add-on sounds really stupid and highly unappealing. Never once while playing Dragon Age did I feel the need to identify with the Darkspawn, who are by design basically the most bland, stereotypical, generic fantasy monsters ever created. I'm not really into boring, but thanks for the offer; the whole "now YOU'RE the bad guy" thing is up there with "dark world" mechanics on the Been There, Done That Scale.  The fact that it's an "alternate scenario" not connected to the main game, featuring a fixed protagonist, makes it sound both a) highly linear and B) open to very little replay value.

Also, not even considering purchasing unless we get a good patch, etc.

I would like this if they did this as camp, the way Dungeon Keeper does. The monsters getting restless because it's pay day, etc.

But it doesn't seem they're playing this as camp at all. You're really supposed to enjoy switching sides and massacring the people of Denerim. I know people have been asking to "play evil" but this to me is going a bit far.

I would have played an intelligent darkspawn (like the Messenger) playing for "my" team. I see no joy in switching sides and playing for the "other" team, which seems to enjoy mindlessly killing innocent people. And whose main dialogue (pre-"awakening") seems to go like this....

1. (you) hnhn hnhn hnhnh

2. (ogre) rrrrrrawwwwwwr

3. (you) hnh hnnh hnnh

4. (shriek) shreeeeeeeek

5. (archdemon) mrrrrrraawwwwwr

6. (you) hnhn hnhn hnhn

7. ogre approves +10!

Well, personally, I think this DLC sounds great. DA:O has become my favorite game of all-time and I can't wait to play more. What's so bad about an alternate universe/time line? As for unlocking DAO:A content, maybe multiple universes can affect each other, who knows. I find this perfectly acceptable.

If this system was put in I might buy it without reading the bug reports.;)

Playing as darkspawn? Killing Alistair? Alternative universum where my PC isn't existing? Let me sum it up:

Whiners out in force I see. I mean really. Epic fail? Obviously you obsessive types only wanted more of the same. Though you would prboably complain about that too.
