I'd pay pure golden bars for one of those.Revya wrote...
A patch that fixes the game is worth more than this DLC.

Whiners out in force I see. I mean really. Epic fail? Obviously you obsessive types only wanted more of the same. Though you would prboably complain about that too.
From what I gather the same content from the original game is being used Mr. Vicious. I would liken this to an RTS in which a map is rehashed and thrust upon the player a second time. Only on this particular outting it occurs during night/fog and I'm now playing as the enemy general. Does it not seem that way to you? I'm certainly not thrilled with the idea of doing it. I am totally for something different, but controlling a mindless enemy with no aspirations, hope, or sound reasoning, just so I can use a few new skills and gleen a new perspective doesn't exactly entice me.
Those are my main worries with this DlC. You are correct. It hasn't even come out and we are dreading it. Haha, we are complainers. Ah well, we'll all see when it comes out. Hope I'm wrong.

Hey, maybe we'll finally get to see how Sandal gakked all those darkspawn! In order to get to the final battle, your darkspawn would have to get by him somehow. Is that worth $5?
You (Darkspawn): Halt! Who goes there? What's the password?
Sandal: Enchantment!
You (Darkspawn): .. fine, you may pass.

I can agree with this. and I do sympathize for the majority of posters who want something meaningful and to do with their companions. [LOL who am i kidding, they want more romance stuff] but this alternate take, while not the most amazing thing ever, is nothing but cheap entertainment in the DAO story. It took a lot less time to put this together and make a couple cutscenes than it would to get the voice actors back and make yet more content around them.

Still, I'm quibbling over semantics. Given that I came into RPGs from the Shooter and RTS angle(WoW was my first RPG of any kind really) I like this spin and will almost certainly be buying it for 5 bones. In fact the replay value could be pretty good IF "they open" up the city and give you many paths to your objective(s).

A patch for Awakenings bundled with an Origins DLC?? Doubtful. I think players would seriously complain about having to buy a DLC in order to get a patch. If there is to be a patch, it SHOULD be freely distributed.
They were up until 1.03..and even then we got that before Awakening in preparation for the expansion. I don't remember PAYING for a patch..frankly.

I wouldn't go so far as to say this is an RTS, unless you've played RTS games with an army cap of 4?
That's where the interview kind of confused me.
Apparently you're the darkspawn commander running all over the field of battle. There will be dozens of other darkspawn already out there, already apparently doing their maiming and destruction.
If you see one you want to issue commands ("hey you! emissary over there!"), you apparently select it, bring it into your "party," give it some commands ... and then what? It wasn't clear, but it seems like it leaves your party and goes off and does stuff. Then you go and find some more to issue commands to.
There definitely does not appear to be a set of 3 other darkspawn who will constantly be travelling with you. You can just run around the battlefield grabbing whatever other darkspawn catches your fancy (ogre, shriek, blight wolf, genlock, hurlock, whateva) and apparently could give orders in this way to dozens all over the place.
I realize it doesn't involve resource collection, or base building, but that to me is more like a RTS game than an RPG game.
AFAICT, you won't be having 'conversations' of any kind with any of your minions (even in translated 'darkspawnspeak'). The Archdemon is supposed to be communicating with you, I guess since this is telepathic you'll be hearing it as a voice in your mind, telling YOU what to do. So there probably are objectives ... like ... "find and kill the Gray Warden templar Alistair!"

Im gonna pass until you fix Awakening and make it work
Agreed. Given their silence on this problem so far, the only way I think Bioware will publically address awakening issues is if they see a drop in DLC revenue.

The release of DLC's has no relation to patch releases. And it makes no sense to move people off the DLC teams to the patch team. Adding more people to the patch team will not make it come out any sooner - anybody in systems development knows that.

I hope they have someone beta testing the new DLC for all the dumb people who are actually going to buy it.
