Im curious to everyones reaction toward the music in the game.  Heard some people prefer ME1 over ME2 but its not something people usually talk about.

Can I have some people's opinions on both Games music?

I prefer some of the tracks more in ME 1, but as a whole ME 2 is better. ME 2 also does a good job in relation to mood while ME 1 seems more to be in your face.



For instance ME 2 relies on Ambient music during the loading screens and other aspects of the game to give it a detached feel. The first Mass Effect the music seems to run parallel to the game rather than to be intertwined within it.

I liked the music in ME2 much more than in ME1. In ME1, the music felt very downplayed at times, and it seemed like it was there just for the sake of being there. It was just audio wallpaper. Some of the tracks were excellent, though, particularly the ones that played on specific cues because those really did help the mood. The music in ME2 however was fantastic, as a character-driven story the character themes all did a great job at conveying the moods and emotions of the characters, you could identify them just by their tracks.

I really did like the music toward the end of Virmire but like for example on therum the music kinda sounded cheesy.

Virmire was really well done from a music standpoint. I just wish that they had included the primary track on the soundtrack >_>

I liked ME2's music more with the exception of the love theme. The love theme in ME1 was brilliant and is still my favourite.
