Just disconnect from the internet, either by removing cable or disabling
the wireless connection. If it works I deserve a cookie or two.
Maybe just not signing in PSN works as well I did not try yet. Been playing for an hour with no game freeze.
I might of found a temporary fix for 3.30 update on PS3

The existing thread has a wealth of information on this subject. Reading it will show that:
- While disconnecting from the network may reduce the frequency of crashes, it will not stop them
- While turning off autosave may reduce the frequency of crashes, it will not stop them
Given the existing thread where people keep repeating these suggestions (which ultimately don't work), we should probably keep all the discussion focused in that single thread rather than adding confusion in other threads.

The only way it does not crash is shut down the ps3 before DAO does... 8)

I also read that plugging in your controller through USB works, and I read that if you run your playstation for 2 hours, start dragon age, run it for another 2 hours, it wont freeze for 1 hr of playing. I've also herd a few reports saying to prey before you start will give you 1-3 hours of gameplay.

................................course that might be because im pretty sure none of you have the ability to do that for very long...

I heard that if you say "Biggie Smalls" 3 times into the mirror he will actually show up and shoot you...well, it worked on South Park...
I've tried all the supposed workarounds and have had freezes as early as the fade in the harrowing. I'm formatting my HD now and will start over again only 4-1/2 hours to go!
If that doesn't work then I will take my DAO disc outside, pour honey all over it and let ants clean it for me

If you play as a Dwarf Mage, you will apparently not get any freezes, but you MUST make it to Dagna and perform the Lyrium Dark Ritual with Morrigan and a Nug, first.

My PS3 slim I played all day one day without it freezing; I reinstalled DAO Awakening patch. My PS3 original 60GB keeps freezing, though I have not reinstalled the Awakening patch.
Also, the more you do the more likely it is to freezing. So don't do so much or get involved in a fight with too much going on.

This is bull****.
The real solution for this problem is very simple: reinstall your game!
