For me, my bromance option would be Justice.  He and I have so much in common.  He realizes he's not supposed to be in the material world but rather than whine and complain about it he decides to make the most out of his situation by ensuring justice, even if it's in a world that is alien to him.
I have so much respect for that.

Alistair and my Human Noble were total bros. I even managed to capture this excellent screenshot of the two back to back, with a circle of dead darkspawn at their feet. Twas most epic.Image IPB

Edit: And since I played my character as if he were me, I figure we'd probably get along pretty well.

Anders and my female Cousland have a bromance of sorts. I imagine they would be high-fiving each other every time they finish killing some darkspawn.

I could easily imagine my Augustus Cousland, an unhappily married King Alistair and Teyrn Fergus going out to a tavern and putting some wenches to sword, noble style!

Also, Oghren, but his lack of self control makes him more like a retarded kid brother to me.

I have played both DAO games for awhile now and learned quickly that the women in the game are better fighters all-around. Alister, as a tank, is as useless as two ****** on a bull, as far as I am concerned. (If I am playing a woman character, I always go for Leliana in romance just because I can't stand Alister's whininess. He doesn't want to lead, but he certainly has a lot to say and questions your every decision. He is truly a fishwife.) Ogren is just a loudmouthed drunk. Sten, is too self absorbed and machine like. (He reminds me of a Cylon.)
Anders is ok, so I can tolerate him. Nathaniel on the other hand is another Alister. ("You killed my father....")

I would have preferred to have been able to fight along side of Mhairi throughout the Awakening, as apposed to any of the men above, save for Anders. "Oh, I could go on about this all day!?!"

For a guy certain about his sexuallity, you sure seem to talk alot about bromances and "hitting the shower" with the other guys who tell you that you look 19.

FYI, Justice is a fade spirit, and as far as I know they have no real gender as they can alter the Fade at their will.

Any companion who uses the word "bromance" infront of me would immediately have a face full of arrows.

The fact that I am secure about my sexuality is the reason why I'm comfortable around other guys.
I think you're looking too deeply into the whole bromance thing with Justice.  It's an emotional thing, not an overly technical term.
I identify Justice as a male so I consider my relationship with him a bromance.

Is a bromance sort of like having a best friend of the same gender?

Even closer than that.  A bromance is when two guys are in love but the relationship is strictly platonic and non sexual in nature.
Think of it as a loving relationship between two brothers or a son and his father.

Edit:I think an even better analogy would be like a wife whose husband becomes paralyzed but refuses to leave him because she loves him.
There can be no sex involved but the love is still there.

From what I understand, it happens most to married men who don't have great relationships with their wives.  Their is sex involves but there is little emotional attachment.
Men fill this void by finding an emotional bond with a fellow male.

I think a less "sexless wife" analogy for Bromance is brother in arms. I have a couple of bromances but I sure as hell wouldn't consider them sexless wives...

I've always been able to talk to girls way better then guys except for my best friends but i talk to girls way more openly and i can be myself around most of my girlfriends and even my girlfriend. I dont gotta pretend to be interested in sports or having conversations on whos hotter in movies or any bs like that. I duno how people stand bromances the only men im close is my actual brother and my dad now days. Women are just so much more interesting then us men and you dont gota act like a thick headed idiot around the ladys. i like being a guy but 90% of guys i meet have the IQ of a mouse. So i cant stand being around them in groups.

*facepalm*

I am not going to respond to Unseen and I realize that I need to say something on topic. I personally was fond of Anders and Alistair. Typical but I like being in charge and I am not a complete dick so we got along swimmingly.

Fine facepalm me if you want. Also ill stick to DAO bromances because i dont get along with most guys irl unless i try hard. But to stick to the topic i always bromance anders and alistar both witty funny guys that dont take everything to serously. Always a joy to be around. Theres my answer :)

Also busomjack i dont need a bromance partner im good with just having guy friends not guy bromances that term is rather odd to use anyway.

I'm like Unseen except I'm a chick. I do not "herd" well with women. I get along with guys much better than girls. I think it was because I was a bit of a tom-boy growing up, hung with my dad a lot, and didn't have a very strong female influence in my life (mom pretty much ignored me unless she wanted something from me). I always feel like I'm wearing a uniform when I put on a skirt or dress. To be honest, most of the girl relationships I've had came with "strings" attached. Guys just accept me as I am. So, having a relationship with any DA chick for me is difficult at best. Sigrun is the only chick I could honestly say I had a "bromance" type relationship with. She was real, honest, and heck of a lot of fun to be around. Anders is also more "bromance" than romance. I just keep thinking that in twenty years, he'll be sitting in a tavern, chewing on a cigar, drinking beer, and making overt passes at all the barmaids. That picture kind of neuters the LI side of the relationship.

Woa, Patriciachr24, we're like, identical. All except that my dad never wanted anything to do with me, so I think I became tom-boyish to try to relate with him even though it didn't work. Most of the time I can hardly stand other females and get along better with guys. Imo, there's just too much drama and criticism going on with women.

Now that I've gotten past the analysis of my psyche, to answer the question, I think I would have a bromance with Ser Cauthrien. Seriously, I never have the heart to kill her, she's just so badass. She seems like the type of woman who doesn't take **** whether you're male or female. I really liked Sigrun as well. So down to earth.

I admit it. I'm a Nathaniel fangirl. So far, he's the only male character I've had any real interest in. Even if he's never made a LI, I'd still be best buds with him.

All male companions except Justice, Oghren and Sten.

Sten would be my target for pointless philosophical debates, Oghren only if I manage to change him the way he changes in the epilogue after I US'd my Warden, and well Justice would probably end up falling apart sooner or later.

Anders got PURE WIN in my book after hte Valeena joining up. "'cause she's a looker, just imagine what her sister looks like! I mean darkspawn, bad, rawrr." Him and Alistair could do some damage one liner wise.

Hey, I thought I was the only one who liked Ser Cauthrien.  I always felt that if I were going to get somebody for the joining, I'd way rather go with her than Loghain.  Unlike him, my PC would have no issues with trusting her whatsoever--the woman is loyal to a fault and excessive loyalty is a human failing I can totally sympathize with.  She's kind of the anti-Branka.
