Just walk into the room and wipe everyone out... Scattershot is the only attack that will land on you. Other than that... you are unhittable

Did the archdemon once with one General still alive, IIRC it was a real tough fight compared to the normal archdemon.
But hardest? I dont know.

Hmmm...
On my first play, I was having trouble with the abandoned warehouse in Denerim. But, other then that....Cauthrien.
The most excruciating battle was Redcliffe village when I went down to fight the second wave of skeletons. I was there for about ten minutes after I killed the last one. I'm like, come on load screen now (cause it was my 3rd time playing, so I knew what should have happened) So I start walking around the houses and there's a skeleton stuck between two houses next to the docks. I was just like....

that 1st ogre fight on nightmare....
I was gonna say this, but fighting Ser Cauthrien when you first try to escape with Anora is borderline suicidal. In fact, I had created a thread on here last year I think asking, "Why is Ser Cauthrien more powerful than the Archdemon?"
You can really tell you're not meant to win that fight. You're supposed to go to the dungeon.
I finally won this fight, but only after buying or finding the very best armor, rings, amulets, belts and any other trinket possible for my party members. Even then, I was the last "man" standing in my party, chugging down health potions before I dropped the last archer. That is one tough battle.
1st time through Redcliffe...never ending nightmare. I went there first like many others and it was tough.

Gaxkang because that noob campers always kills me. If my character is an Arcane Warrior, he has no chance, but with any other character he just goes into a killing frenzy.

Is there an achievement for killing Ser Cauthrien in that fight? I've never bothered to do it because I love the scenes of your companions rescuing you.

The Ser Cauthrien fight is so tough because Bioware really really really doesn't want you to win that fight. Even when you pull her away from her team she still hits like a freight train on steroids. One hit one party member down sort of bs. I've found the toughest "real" fights generally are Jarvia, Branka, High Dragon (any of them), Flemeth, Marjolaine and the Brood Mother. Anybody else notice a pattern here?

You know what's better than the rescue scene? The scene where you're leaving just as your party members run in saying "Oh, we're here to rescue you..." They just sound so disappointed that they don't ge to do anything...I've only broken out of Fort Drakon myself twice and that scene only happened once but I think it was when I just decided to kill everything between me and the door.

Toughest fights for me were the gates of Branka, the gates of Fort Drakon, and the defense of Redcliffe. Ugh...and those damned wolves.

When I did it, I walked out without killing anybody (except maybe the one guard that we knocked out with our bare hands). I just wandered over to Eammon's and nobody seemed very surprised to see us, which puzzled me.

...but some of my toughest battles were when I was a low level. There is one map encounter where there are some foes that I have to cross a bridge to get to. That was a pain because there is a mage with fireball. Another is the first battle with the wolves. Even the bandits in Lothering were hard simply because I was too weak.
