As a character, great. As a romance, great, except he isn't human. That destroys all possible attraction.

I don't like it that he doesn't fit in the storyline at all.

Unfortunately, that can be said of nearly every character.

Found out he dies if you choose him as teammate (loyal btw) right at the door if you choose Miranda to do the Biotic bubble in the collector base. Miranda power weakens just before we hit the door and Thane gets "eaten" alive by the bugs.

The one who dies is random. Miranda is not the right choice to hold the bubble.

I really like Thane but I understand why others don't. I find his memories a bit annoying and he is kinda usless in combat but overall I like the romance and backstory. I would love to see more of him in ME3 but if he wasn't recruitable I wouldn't miss him in the missions. I usually only take him on easy missions where he doesn't have to do much like Jack and samaras loyalty missions, so I can feel he's contributing something.

Depends on the class. Quite useful with an adept. An extra warp to go with Miranda makes collector missions a cakewalk.

He's not as cool as I thought, but still ok. He seemed cooler in trailers

actually i think the stronger characters always die in the biotic field. miranda has a permo lock so she cant die and tali is the 2nd hardest person to kill in the field.

Hate him because he has no place in ME2. And the whole "perfect" memory was annoying.

No, it's random. I'm not sure whether it's the first person you select or the second, but reloading changes who's first and who's second

Thane has a high survival rate while "holding the line". Mordin has the lowest, then it's Tali, then Miranda and Jacob

Thane is an interesting character, though you have to dig into his coversations to realize it. He's more interesting than Samara, honestly.

He's alright I guess. Like someone said, he doesn't particularly have a specific role in a suicide mission.

I like him as a teammate for my Shep, not as a love interest. He should stay loyal to his wife in his dying months.

His wife's been dead for ten years. Doesn't he (and Shep) deserve some joy before the end (if it comes)? It's very touching how Shep reawakens him after his long sleep.

"Strange that I should only reawaken now, when there's so little time left."

I don't hate the guy, he just doesn't have a purpose. He's not needed for the suicide mission in any major way. I had no clue he was a biotic until the final mission in fact I had clue he even used a sniper rifle because I've never had to use him in a battle.

I didn't find Thane annoying at all, even when he slips back into memories. I suppose people expected him to be more of a cold, ruthless killer without personal drama so were disappointed how he turned out. He's not really a character I used that much, although he is quite versatile, I preferred other squad mates to him. I always made a point to go down to visit him between visits, since I could see him being an individual I'd get along with quite well.

As for the comment earlier about his justification for killing being annoying, you're probably looking at it from a compassionate human perspective. If you remember absolutely everything, including the emotions that go with it, you'd probably develop a way to detach yourself from killing if you couldn't ever get away from it as well. Since Thane entered himself into service of the people who saved what was left of his to do their bidding, you can see how he'd see himself as their tool, their weapon, with absolutely no responsibility for what he does on their behalf.

I use him occasionally. He's best in missions that involve Husks. Warp --> Throw and sniping aren't bad combinations in those situations.

I like Thane, I think he's pretty cool. He's trying to repent for the killings he has done, so that's good. He's a gentleman worthy of respect, I think.

Love, love his final scene with my Shepard, so touching, gives me goose bumps. I saved before and reloaded too many times, embarassed to mention how many.

Thank god, I'm not the only one that did that!

In my first playthrough I didn't pay much attention to him, since I was set on romancing Garrus, but he got my interest the moment I recruited him. He was different of what I had expected after seen his promotional video, he was more arrogant there.

I think he is an interesting character and the voice actor did a great job. I'm going to have problems keeping one of my Shepards loyal to Kaiden! XD

I must admit though, that it took me a while to figure out which squad combination made him more useful... also it kind of annoys me the fact that if you don't romance him you miss the best of him... but that happens with all characters, so...

Wasn't a big fan of the guy. Learning about the drell was a bit interesting, but his perfect memory was annoying, and the whole "I'm about to die" always brought down the mood. Not a guy you want to party with like Jacob or Garrus.

I love love LOVE him! The smexy zipper, the awesomeness, the fact that he never dies when I take him places, even on Insanity. I love my Thane...His outfits are awesome and he is a romantic. <3 I do wish he had a bigger role in the suicide mission...maybe a sniping level where you had to pick squaddies to cover you (unless you were an infiltrator, then they help you cover a suaddie) and you could pick Garrus or Thane...would have been EPIC!

but yeah, i love him, take him everywhere, plus you get high when you lick him! Sounds like the perfect man imo...hehehe.

I gotta disagree.  I've often looked at assassins in that light.  They kill because they are paid to kill, the real murderer is the person who hires the assassin.  It makes sense imo...

Tali: Shepard? Why are you pointing a gun at Thane?
Shepard: I'm not pointing a gun at him, my body does.

i find his tragic story very depressing and i love that kind of stuff. he's not what i ecxpected him to be thats for sure. i thought he would be a cold hearted assassin but he's a deep feeling guy who's been through a lot. he's one of my favorite characters.
