Well, keeping it simple... I for one can't wait to see what it's like from the other side.

Are we to have weapon and armour choices? Or do we run around nekkid and bite the heads off of the puny humans?

After looking at the screen shots- I just had a flash back - all the way to the 70's a TV show called Dallas- where Bobby had a dream --- Maybe this is an Alistair Dream!! cool!

Lol! Ah, that explains it, because otherwise it's baffling, and Dragon Age just went from RPG to...not. Much more sensible that this is a horrifying dream of Alistair's.

Sorry for being late to the party and I'm sure this has been asked before but I'll ask it anyway. How the hell does this work? Do we choose to start if from the game's main menu? Do we need to load the save of DAO and as the warden go to the world map where upon visiting a place the fabric of time and space gets torn to pieces and the past changed? What level of game advancement will we need in order to start playing this DLC? Etc. etc. etc. This makes little sense at the moment.

Well, I don't think that's true, or I wouldn't make him king, but tha's neither here nor there in terms of the topic. ;)

Well, that will be an interesting birthday gift for myself. I'm actually interested to see how this story will play out. I also have a feeling that this will be the DLC that Leliana's VA was talking about in her posts. Thanks for another interesting DLC, BioWare.

I'm a bit disappointed however I'm getting it because it's dragon age, there's achievements, and a badass sword at the end. Lel DLC would have been nice...... wait.... what if this IS the DLC? Corine recorded her voice and Leliana is no doubt in the DLC, however she did mention Awakening....

I can't wait for this DLC. As quick and "hack n slash" as RtO was, I enjoyed it and thought it was worth the $. The idea of playing as the enemy in a "Flash-sideways" is very creative and opens up numerous possibilities for the future (books dlc episodes, comics ect). Not surprised by all the pessimism tho, haters will be haters, and most gamers who post on forums are never happy. I say, bring on the 18th!

Agreed!  I think that it is very important to see or experience from "all" perspectives.  Especially when we see certain *ahem* changes in Awakening.  Am I a member of a minority who would like to know more about the Darkspawn and what truly drives and motivates them? I happen to like the fact that Bioware and its developers are making the Darkspawn a more complex species.  Still doesn't mean that I won't sink an arrow first and ask, "what's up" later, but it might give me considerable pause before doing so. Image IPB

yes weryleder, i also like the "all perspectives" approach...i liked in the olden days, say like FFIV, when they'd flash to the bad guys and show a glimpse of their motivation....its nice to know i bit on inside info on the Darkspawn, and it will hopefully flesh out some more of their lore.

Also, I'm a 360 player, so i never played the Mod, so this will be new to me.

Indeed (I also, normally make him king) just wonder if it can be played in both Awakening and Origins is all

It does seem that way since it sounds like they are just copy pasting what's in the game already to patch something they can sell together but I think they can make it worthwhile if they put the necessary ammount of time and effort to tell a good story with cutscenes and all without cutting any more corners but I somehow doubt it'll be anything special for $5.....and we've all seen RtO which was.....underwhelming. I guess I'll find out when I play it.

Think of this adventure as your adventure, but YOU were never around to take part. Dragon Age: Origins was always the tale of the Grey Warden you created and how he or she became the mightiest of Grey Wardens and stopped the Blight. This adventure takes place as if your Grey Warden had never existed.

You play as a hurlock vanguard and use your new "Enthrall" ability to recruit your fellow darkspawn as allies. Partner with shrieks, genlocks, ogres and more. You  will encounter characters from Dragon Age: Origins both party members like Alistair or Morrigan (for example) and NPCs who try to defend Denerim and stop the Darkspawn without your Grey Warden to guide them. As the darkspawn,  you will have to defeat them to destroy Denerim.

If you choose to play Darkspawn Chronicles you can unlock 3 new achievements and, if you complete the story, you unlock the powerful new BlightBlood sword that you can use in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins Awakening.

The Darkspawn Chronicles costs 400 BioWare or Microsoft points and will be available on May 18 for the PC and Xbox 360 and on the Playstation 3 with date to be announced shortly.

Okay. Not going to do that. Absolutely not going to kill Alistair or Morrigan. If I could play Alistair as leader of the wardens, okay, maybe, but not some stinking deathspawn. Game after game of trying to save Denerim and now I'm supposed to destroy it? Nope.

I've wondered about that as well.

If this is a different campaign that we access from the main menu, a la Awakening, and isn't tied to a particular character's campaign, will the items be available to all of our characters? Or will we need to load a character, somehow access the content from camp or the keep and replay it for each toon we want to have access to the items?

How do we load it? How does it work with existing characters? How do the items work?

BioWare has a lot moretallent at writing darker stories.....even in KotOR the dark ending was a lot better and more believable than the tongue in cheek cliche light ending.....I just have to wonder whether they put any real effort into this DLC and whether they'll ever realize that they need to stop focusing on heroes and do what they do best.....focus on villains as player characters.

This is one time I won't be spending my money BioWare. I have bought into Awakenings, which gave me no joy. I have bought every single DLC for ME1, ME2, and DAO.... Not this time.

Why in the Sake of the Maker would we want to play a DS? After all our tireless efforts to save the world from these beast? Why would we want to be a rotting pestilence and try and beat Alistair and his country? WTH????????!!!

Have they lost their minds? "sighs"  :o

Thanks but no Thanks..  If DA2 is going heading to this level of idiocy. I'll pass on that too.

Ohhhh you clever monkey you, that's a good point, still maybe they had her double up & do both recordings, kinda like alistar, loghain & wynne's va's were all in ostagar and awakening, or it's simply alistair & morighan?

They are the two who must be there in some form, everyone else was only there because of the warden, wonder how badly Alistair screwed up hmmmm lol

Also any luck with that PS3 patch? seems abit pointless buy'n a DLC for a game i can't play here
