People who role play RPG's themselves are ****s, stop whining about 'it has 0 roleplaying value' OH NOES!

Many DAO fans are obsessive, and act like DAO was an incredibly epic RPG. It wasn't. It was a good game but not awesome. I understand the people who are upset about the lack of a patch. Its' their right.

But the ones whining and crying and boycotting the DLC simply because you play an alternate reality that results in the deaths of your companions are the obsessive types.

It's a good thing DAO didn't go FULL dark fantasy - because it looks like many of the posters here could not handle it.

I dont have the dex bug on ps3 i made a pure archer she hits 270s with 100dex with bounes on awakening. Is this glitch only on origins? thats the only time i've seen an archer under powered.

They made archery a lot stronger in the expansion, the bug does actually carry over to awakenings as well, but is less noticable with archery being so much stronger, it's very noticable in origins though.

then there's the people who hate profit and want bioware to give things away for free. it just gets tiring. i don't think bioware is perfect. they are far from it, but i know how to give some criticism of a game without being vague and just generally whining.

I would pay quite a lot for a DLC that expands on the original story and brings back the companions for more than just a cheap run at pillaging and cutting off heads.

And there has been thoughtful criticism as well as thoughtful praise/ anticipation on this thread.  Your complaint about "whining" is what is vague and misplaced.

You've repeatedly stated that people who don't like the concept of this 'can't handle it.' Can we not disagree without characterizing each other as weak?

Im not one for bashing bioware for DAO is the only game i have with them, and i've had tons of fun on it. But i would have jumped for joy if they announced a patch that fixed my sentinel armor and vigilence sword glitch.

Edit: But i will be getting this new dlc as soon as they fix the ps3 verson. Cause i wana see how this twilightzone verson of DAO is gona work.

This DLC totally undermines the importance of the Warden, which adds insult to injury for some fans. Without your Warden, Alistair becomes Rambo and somehow manages to gather the Army. He then gets the support at the Landsmeet by himself, Kills Loghain, makes himself king and does the Dark Ritual. All inconsistent to the character of Alistair from Orgins, or does he have a split personality now? This is almost like they are saying " Most of your choices count for nothing," because Alistair can cope just fine without you, up untill the last fight.

If the new content is to be believed, your Warden is only needed for the Final Battle and to destroy the Archdemon at the end of the game. One of many reasons, why i'm giving this a pass. A lack of believability!

It makes more sense to me if Loghain was at the ending of the trailer instead of Alistair.

Alistair would of died on the tower of Ishal a loooong time ago.

Ooooh

That´s sad, I can see.

All those Alistair-haters are proven wrong - Alistair CAN do something on his own!!!

Shame on you, BioWare!! We LOVED to bash Alistair´s inability to live on his own, how DARE you take that away?!

Actually roleplaying can be fun too.......

Maybe people who want to tell others how to play their games should get a life?

That being said, I don´t see why a Darkspawn has no Roleplaying potential. I find it more interesting to RP something that´s different from yourself, so a Darkspawn is just fine.

For all you know he could have gone running to Eamon, and the only army he has is the Redcliffe Army. The two of them could have gone to the Landsmeet and Anora would have still gone to them for help, but Eamon would have probably only agreed to help her if she married Alistair, since he doesn't like Anora. Thus, Anora leads the fight at the Landsmeet, but Alistair still demands Loghain's death cos that's how her rolls. Alistair's still king, still alive, and leads the army to Denerim. And maybe Morrigan drugged him and made him do the ritual.

Just saying.

It'd be real neat if there was an option to re-configure Alistair's choices prior to the Final Battle. That way, you could wind up battling Witherfang and her werewolves or Kardoc and the Legion of the Dead or Branka and her army of Golems or Zathrian and the Dalish Elves or Loghain with Cauthrein and the Denerim knights.

Ok here we go again..u are in "what if AU" and u are Darkspawn and u gonna bash Alistair head in..mhhm if he was so tough and didn't need fellow Warden in first place he would be a PC in first place and u wouldn't need to Create ur own character. But guess what..Alistair is wuss so he's gonna die under grimey DS boot..Reason for it;he is AI an virtual entity driven by script, how doesn't has ur brain or smarts that are in DS body.Warden unimportant..methinks not. What am I tryin to say is it's Players personality, morals and smarts that drive the story. This DLC shows u just that, that a story isn't driven by cast but director which is u bub...

The point is that by now, everything indicates that you will play a mute hurlock vanguard who just slashes his way through Denerim and "commands" a party of other equally dumb and dull darkspawn beasts to kill everything in sight.

I probably would haven't bought it anyway, but it could be possible and interesting to roleplay a Darkspawn. It's just that by all that is known about that dlc, you do not roleplay but play a tactical hack n' slash with a dull nameless beast. And that, to me, is simply not roleplaying

I wonder how long this is to be, 1 or 2 hours?

For 5 bucks that's a wonderful value. Reminds me of the good old days when Bring Down the Sky came out.

So do people who troll the forums of an RPG game trying to pick fights with folks who RP. :police:
