I am slightly intriqued by the by the idea, but I do not see any replay value. Do you get any different endings if you lose to Alistair or some of the companions survive? I will be interested in seeing a few opinions before committing to this one.

I like my character/party members too much to enjoy killing them. I'll pass.

Sadly, they have no incentive to fix the game because enough people will buy it right away, and they'll make their money without lifting a finger to fix anything. I'm not saying to buy it or not, that is ultimately up to you, I'm just saying that all the money they get from people buying everything they put out, makes it less likely that we'll see any real fixes.

After awakening, I think i'll give this DLC some time to sink in so I can make sure it's not buggy on the console.

Is anyone going to buy this without looking for reviews on here first? I wonder - they'd be brave (or foolish) to do so. Awakening has made me very cautious over DA DLC.

I'm strongly considering it only because I'm on a major Dragon Age kick right now. I'm replaying Origins and then going to play through Awakening for the first time (with lowered expectations due to some of the reactions I've been seeing (actually I already had pretty low expectations due to it coming out a mere 4 months after Dragon Age, rather than the 8-10 months expansions tend to release on)).

So if I'm EVER going to play Darkspawn Chronicles, now would be a good time for me to do it so I can use that bonus sword that you get when you beat it =]

I also like the idea of supporting "weird" DLC. This doesn't look as good as a lot of other weird ideas, but hopefully they'll produce more weird content if this gets support.

For instance, what if they produced a DLC pack where you play through the storyline (with some modifications so you can affect the outcome in minor ways) of The Stolen Throne novel or The Calling? The storyline is already written and a lot of the art assets are there --- but it's a "weird" idea.

Or maybe I just want to see what voice actor they'd hire for Maric :P

I liked awakenings, in some ways more than origins. No annoying 3 hour long dwarven quests helped.

Quoted for the truth. If you have an install of Dragon Age and can't play it, Bioware doesn't seem to care.

Quoted for inaccuracy. Bioware answers to EA, so after they test it, they have to send it to EA for approval, before sending it out to Microsoft and Sony. Sony in particular takes forever to approve patches and DLC... so naturally patches take a while to come out.
Not to mention that Bioware employees undoubtedly have NDAs they have to sign, so they can't tell us what's going on without losing their jobs.

THIS is why there haven't been any updates on the upcoming patch (not to mention the last time they gave us a release date for this kind of thing, they couldn't make the deadline after all).

And really. If you're having issues with your game (and many of us aren't, and wouldn't mind discussing this DLC without every thread being derailed, just saying), take it to the tech support forum, where the tech support guys will actually be looking.
Complaining about bugs in this part of the forums is just going to fall on deaf ears.

ON TOPIC: I think this DLC seems pretty fun, and as an occasional modder and frequent mod downloader, I can't wait to see the Hurlock Vanguard become a party member in the main campaign. :D

The Darkspawn Chronicles will be available as early as later tonight! The Darkspawn Chronicles will be available at the below times by region:

PC Worldwide – anytime after 9AM PST / 10AM Edmonton time

360 Worldwide – anytime after 2-4AM PST / 3-5AM Edmonton

PS3 North America - 4PM PST (5PM Edmonton).

"But Priestly," I hear you say "I don't wwant to buy The Darkspawn Chronicles until you've fixed my crashing problems on my PS3!" Well, we have good news for you about that as well. As I said here: http://social.biowar...4/index/2645260 there will be a patch to fix the crashing caused by the 3.3 firmware update and 2 other important issues available for the PS3 tonight.

So no delays. Keep your eyes on your system for The Darkspawn Chronicles. :)

products until they have word BioWare's future is still secure or at least until a major pc bugfix patch comes out

Well it is good to hear that in the outside world things are happening... as here in London, most of the Game shops have lots of second hand Xbox DAO's in the shelf or are struggling to sell them, not to mention the ones that have been returned.

Ha, ha, ha,

I had to laugh when i woke up this morning in New Brunswick..do not worry, Chris Knows where this place is. I was being sarcastic since i expected a debacle like return of.... but at least it generated something positive by giving us an actual timing for those who want the dlc and when to get it.

mmmmmm, now i am wondering what i have to say to get the timing for the release timing of the patch.

Mr Sissypants here is like a lot of people around the globe, wondering when the issues of the game will be fixed.

Peace.

Will this fix those incompatibility bugs between Warden's Keep and Awakening? You know, the one that causes Awakening items to display WK graphics even if WK items cannot be imported into Awakening? Will this cause another bugs of the sort? Can we play this with WK enabled on game client DLC menu? Must we disable any DLC?

It would be nice to be warned in advance so we don't learn that the item was supposed to look differently only after we finish the DLC run, like happened to me when I had discarded Vigilance because it was awfully similar to Starfang and I learned about the incompatibility bug only when someone commented about it in one of my DA-AWK vids on YouTube, one with a battle right before the end.

Anyway, already got my points for it so please make it right this time!

Frankly I think the concept is pretty cool. I mean, its not like they are making a whole game of it or something it is just some fun. If you ask me, its about time a company made a DLC that really was totally unexpected and new.
