Ah, that's reasonable I suppose. It would have been fine/better if they'd flashed it in the middle of the screen instead of hanging it over your character's head.Aleena wrote...

This is the only part of your summary I disagree with. It was fairly essential to have some way to convey orders to your darkspawn and this method made a fair degree of sense.Aleena wrote...
· Disliked the archdemon floaty text messages (too intrusive).
The other option would be to have a literal telepathic voice in your head - but do we really want a definitive voice for the Archdemon? Hm...
I don't mind the text - as you mention, there's no other way to convey what are supposed to be thoughts or telepathic directives to the player. I actually quite liked the mutterings of the archdemon that play when the player is given a task. What I object to is the reuse of the primary mechanism for combat feedback to deliver story. The game needs some other GUI element for this sort of thing. Or, as most of my exes would say, maybe I'm just too picky...
But, like you said, I do think that's a bit nitpicky

You know what this means bioware? Where is my DLC item where I can equip my pimp coat and have a Leli/Pc/alistair threesome. Where is it? Because the only thing standing in the way of one of the cutest pairings ever is the greatest hero ever known who also happens to be strikingly beautiful and also a noble.
Oh. I see what you did there. This is why we can't have nice things, Bioware.
ahem
LOVE the DLC. I rushed right on through so I'll go back to get the achievements soon.

I just got this DLC today, and I'm having trouble getting the Ogre Keeper Trophy. Is there a specific difficulty you have to do it on? I've made it through the entire game without the Ogre dying (Only being removed in that one area where you have to release him) and I don't get the Trophy. Is the PS3 version glitched, or am I doing something wrong?
same thing here, I have killed Alistair 4 times, but still no.
I know this is going to be a hard one so I saved right before release it. then:
1. I recruited the one which already had max ar, (I assume it's the initial one), and then killed Alistair, no achievement;
2. I recruited the other one with 0 ar, killed Alistair, no achievement;
3, restart the game, load save, repeat 1, no achievement;
4, restart the game, load save, repeat 2, still no...
I guess I'll have to start from the every begining...bioware, you ruined my day....

The only thing I can think of is that... did you get the right Ogre back at the Palace area? There are two of them around and if you enthralled the wrong one... but it's just my wild guess here. I had the achievement alright on the PC NM diff.
But I really wanted an achievement seal for this!

Has anyone got the new sword?
It's good?
well its not an overpowered uber item but it is unique, its got a permament venom enchantment on it plus 3 slots for runes and as someone has mentioned earlier is restricted to warriors and rogues.
im wondering if this DLC started as a a private mod by one or more of the developers. i liked it even if it does effect me more than i suspected it would when you kill alistair

I liked it too. I think it would have been better as an expansion. Doing the game in reverse per say. being able to level them up and stuff might have been fun as well.

As you might expect, Alistair appears to have killed Loghain. Though Ser Cauthrien was spared.Springwalker wrote...
Do I get to beat Loghain up? Since he is a possible companion I was wondering this.
I suspect Alistair managed to do it earlier than The Warden is able to - because Arl Howe is still alive.
Then again, I suppose it's also possible that Alistair simply didn't bother to rescue Queen Anora and so he never confronted Arl Howe.

An expansion would have been awsome! Level up, more cool powers and being able to customize the appearance to look even more fearsome.
I havent even played til the end but I really enjoyed it so far
oh, YAY for being able to kill Howe again! Revenge for Couslands ^^

I got the one that had the full respect meter. I also tried waiting and getting the one near the end so that an Ogre never left my party, but nothing.
Once again, the PS3 gets screwed for absolutely no reason at all, so it seems.

The old Republic is coming up in 2011. Sith, dark site of the Force and all that.
Bioware/Lucas Arts title. No need to do a hurlock expansion then, i hope.

Looks interesting, but I can't justify purchasing this "what-if story" when what I consider to be the best ending for the main game gets retconned in Awakening.
I don't think it looks too interesting. But as for Awakening, if you are referring to the "sacrifice" ending, you can always choose to play Awakening with an Orlessian Warden instead of importing the dead one, no?

No thanks, not only does that story refuse to acknowledge my Origins Warden's existence, but it also assumes you made certain choices, not the least of those having something to do with the Landsmeet.
If that much is already pre-selected for me, it goes without saying that whatever happened with Morrigan, to keep low on the spoilers, will be as well in the sequels. That is not a future I wish to be part of.

While I do think this is a legit concern, I don't think it "goes without saying" that Dragon Age 2 will ignore your flags. Awakenings clearly had an extremely fast development cycle considering how shortly it came out after the main game and isn't a true sequel.Kaiser Shepard wrote...

Basically, if I was Bioware, I wouldn't assume that everyone would buy Awakenings - but I would assume they'd buy Dragon Age 2. So I'd deal with as few flags as possible in Awakenings but create some new ones - --- and then deal with all flags in Dragon Age 2. So...
Dragon Age Orgins: Creates tons of flags.
Dragon Age Awakenings: Acknowledges a few flags, but doesn't deal with them. Creates some "bonus" flags.
Dragon Age 2: Deals with flags from DA:O (lots) and Awakenings (few). The players that didn't play Awakenings won't be particularly left out because the DA:A flags will just be minor scenes (similar to most ME1 reference scenes/characters in ME2).
And, of course, my conjecture above doesn't go without saying either. They could indeed just scrap DA:O flags.
