its gonna be real interesting seeing how it all plays out differently. looking really forward to it, shame though PS3 got shafted again. It's like playing grand theft auto as a cop rather than a crook. lol

I duno Maric wasn't much of a leader at first either. So i think alistar would deffiently stand a good chance at defeating the blight without me. Instead of meeting goldanna hardening him he'd be harden by having to be the person your warden was making choices on what to do would make him a bigger person then .he even is at the end of origins if hes hardend

This sounds awesome! Just the kind of fresh approach that will get me to launch the game again.

Wait how can Alistair lead them that far? He gets lost trying to find dinner!

Oh c'mon, it sounds like fun. Besides it's only $5 and probably only an hour or two.

This looks to be way to much like LOTRO's "Monster Play", where you play as an orc, uruk-hai, etc. though this doesn't have the benefit of allowing you to fight actual players who can surprise you, or playing with friends, and I kind of doubt you will have the time to build up and customize a character to anywhere near the same extent. Also, most companions were recruited by the PC, and I doubt Morrigan would stick with Alistair, or Zevran, or Shale, I'm not sure any companion aside from Leliana, and Wynne, would actually join him, maybe Oghren, but I don't know.

This makes me a sad Warden.

LOL, you know ßeta, I recently read a fanfic, where the Warden is having a conversation with one of the companions (this is after the events of the Landsmeet) and she says "If I had died [...], Alistair would still be wandering the Wilds, looking for a clue!"

To me, that is so like Alistair... though I suppose when the occassion calls for it, he just might rise to the challenge... after all, Maric didn't want to be King either and look at how that turned out. Image IPB

Think J.J. Abram's Star Trek Image IPB

I'd rather not.  Star Trek 90210 really should not have been called Star Trek.  "FIRE EVERYTHING"
"But we don't have a captain!"  ... "We. Do.  Now!" cheesey Myspace face pose.

Sounds like you'll be one of the Darkspawn in that corpse pile where Sandal will be standing near, you go at him with a small army and get slaughtered.

I honestly can't believe people want this to be classified as "dream sequence"

That is one of the cheesiest tropes of all time. Right behind "It's actually a centuries old good ole boy network of think tankers that are controlling the world events!"

never said I wanted that it just makes the most sense (or an option in the main menu of either game that lets you play it after downloading)

I'm buying this one. Any new mission I will buy. I need more dragon age or else I'll go insane!:mellow: lol. But really this new twist is very interesting. Can't wait to play it, and thanks for the update Chris.

I imagine this is another campaign, like Awakening, right?  Just small.  I will probably get it just for the novelty.  Still, don't see how a "stand alone" adventure like this will "extend the life of the game." Technically ANY DLC can extend the life of the game.  Does someone in the BW PR dept have their eye on a political career?  The way they hype stuff sometimes ... ;)

Anyway, very novel idea.  I look forward to more info on this.  Thanks!

(Don't know if I'll be able to kill Leliana if she's in it. Though I'm sure many others will revel in it.)

Then you should totally buy it.  I don't think it sounds interesting, so I won't.  The world can accomodate us both.

I'm shocked that Alistair managed to make it that far on his own, whilst he is a great joker and a good king -well kinda- I don't think he is cut out for this role, he ain't a patch off of my warden Achillies, oh well we get some epic darkspawn item to keep through origins yay. :)

All the characters seem to have some sort of vested interest in sticking with it, beyond wanting to follow the warden.   Morrigan, for instance, needs to get Alistair to the archdemon.  Zevran will be killed if he leaves.  And most of them stick with it even if they don't like the PC much, so they might put up with Alistair for their own reasons.

hmmm, I wonder if Alistair and Morrigan still become lovers without the Warden involved

Oh all the Companions would still have some reason to be with Alistair (except Dog and maybe Ogrhen and Shale)

I'm actually excited for this! It would put a great spin on DA:O. Like the Terran Empire alternate reality in Star Trek.

Well heck it's already AU, will not be suprised if it happens. Huh, maybe Leliana would too.
