I know, people disagreeing with you?  What a damned shame.

Everyone passes on buying cheap stuff they don't want every day--why would this be different?

Anyway...

I'm leaning towards not getting it at this time.  The premise just doesn't appeal to me, and on top of that I was pretty disappointed with the Return to Ostagar debacle.  This is going to be a case of "wait and see, read reviews", not buying out of faith in a brand name.

The way I see it is: RtO was $5. It was trash. This is $5 and will most likely be trash. Maybe I'm wrong, but for now, I'm keeping my money, even it is only $5.

Oh wow, this looks rather cool. Well done to whoever thought of this :D I hope this means we get a patch soon as well!

Just as many people predicted, instead of getting even a short blip about a new patch, you guys got an announcement for a new DLC.

To add insult to injury, they even removed the old thread (about Bioware vs. Valve)  where many people were asking for a new patch to make room for this new DLC announcement.

I hope this puts to rest any notion that there are separate teams for DLC and patching. Patch 1.03 was primarily a way to prepare DA for Awakenings. That alone should have clued you guys in that there are no separate teams.

Stop holding your breaths for a patch, and accept that this is the future of Bioware/EA.

Sounds interesting, definitely wait for reviews though. Would rather have DLC that focuses on my character and companions from Origins.

While interested in exploring the "what ifs" of the Warden's absence, I really feel like that's a topic for fanfiction, not a DLC. I understand the point of the DLC is actually to play darkspawn, but I'd only be interested in RP value (that's what I really want, after all). So, looks like I'll be sitting this one out until someone tells me it's epic as hell. Learned my lesson with Awakening.

All the characters seem to have some sort of vested interest in sticking with it, beyond wanting to follow the warden.   Morrigan, for instance, needs to get Alistair to the archdemon.  Zevran will be killed if he leaves.

But if I recall correctly, Alistair actually disapproves if you choose to spare Zevran.  To me, that implies that if it were up to him, he would have killed Zevran, or at least not have him tag along.

I was destined to buy it simply because it exists, but this looks fun, or in the very least interesting.

Poor Alistair, guess he was right about what happens when he leads.... ;)

In other news, next DLC will have you play as a spirit, and will entirely take place in the Fade. Oh yeah I can already see the outraged reactions of the fans. :D

I wouldn't mind playing as Justice or have him in my party if that happens

Morrigan and alistar will romance one way or another and although morrigan hates alistar when the wardens around she still needs to try and convince alistar to have a kid to preserve the arch demons soul. So i'd say he'd have leliana, oghren, morrigan, Wynne, sten, and i doubt he'll kill zevran either he should spare everybody LOL he needs all the help he can get.

Interesting. Nice to see BioWare thinking outside the box. An interesting scenario and I'll probably end up buyin this. There probably won't be much dialogue though... :/

If you choose to play Darkspawn Chronicles you can unlock 3 new achievements and, if you complete the story, you unlock the powerful new BlightBlood sword that you can use in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins Awakening.

If I get this, will this sword be available to all of my characters then, just by virtue of completing the DLC? I can't imagine that it can be tied to any individual characters, since I'm not playing as any of my characters, but as a Darkspawn.

If I have to play the same scenario 5 times, with a cutscene of each of my characters dying during the joining, before it is available to each, I think I'll get really bored with it.

I know everyone has a different oppion. But i dont think this should be judged so harshly i really dont care if you or anyone buys it or not. No reason to get moody about what i say. If you dont like it dont buy it Image IPB more power to you. Im still interested on how there going to implament this into the story. If they told me this was gona be 10-20 i'd be like no way, but for 5 ya ill get it.

I'd hardly call that "romance" or "being lovers", though.

FAROUT!

Will it be as fantastically awesome as the RTO "DLC"? Will I be able to spend 1/2 an hour killing 40 humans, dwarfs, and elves without the irritating burden of mini-story? Will I get a digital "I <heart> Darkspawn" t-shirt just like the digital "I <heart> Cailan" t-shirt in RTO? Promise me you won't put more than 4 lines of unique dialog in so it's just as fantastically awesome as RTO. Fookin awesome man. And be sure to charge at least 5 bucks too, fersher. I can't wait. Hey! maybe BW could do a count-down timer thang too!

I do wonder about that.  He could well kill him, or fail to recruit other companions.  If he's on his own though, he might act differently than he would with the support of the warden.  He'd need all the help he could get.  He might be influenced by what the other companions say, or decide for himself that Zevran is more useful alive than dead.

Gotta love the internet, the only place where people who HATE something and call it TRASH will post message after message on a specific board dedicated to the game they think is "TRASH"

Why not, when what you say is kind of obnoxious?  No one here is judging this unreleashed DLC harshly--if you don't care, then don't make idiotic statements about how people suddenly think $5 is lots of money (by the way, to some people it is...).

Seriously? :blink:A DLC that lets you play as a darkspawn? Hahaha! That's the lamest idea ever! Yet, dastardly brilliant  I might just have to get it just because it sounds like a late April's fools joke :P
I won't believe it untill I see it on the DL screen in-game and read about it on the forums though, I seriously thought this was a joke:lol:

Nice. I'd like to see how the world looks through the other side's eyes.

It adds a lot of dimension to understand your enemy. Think about all the scenes in the Lord of the Rings movies where we see the orcs interacting with each other and how much flavor that added to the story. Nobody likes a faceless opaque enemy.
