If he's on his own though, he might act differently than he would with the support of the warden.  He'd need all the help he could get.  He might be influenced by what the other companions say, or decide for himself that Zevran is more useful alive than dead.

True.  And if the intent is actually to show these companions in an AU, the easiest (and perhaps the most interesting) choice might be just the put them all in there--after all, Zevran fans will want to see Zevran and will wonder about his absence if he isn't there.

This is crazy...we spent all of DAO and Awakenings KILLING darkspawn...now we are expected to play as darkspawn? No thanks.

its gonna be real interesting seeing how it all plays out differently. looking really forward to it, shame though PS3 got shafted again. It's like playing grand theft auto as a cop rather than a crook. lol

i feel bad for you guys, but the date this time could also be affected by the firmware problem.

Nice. I'd like to see how the world looks through the other side's eyes.
It adds a lot of dimension to understand your enemy. Think about all the scenes in the Lord of the Rings movies where we see the orcs interacting with each other and how much flavor that added to the story. Nobody likes a faceless opaque enemy.

I agree it will add more depth and understanding of your enemy. Instead of them being mindless beasts with swords.

Think of this adventure as your adventure, but YOU were never around to take part. Dragon Age: Origins was always the tale of the Grey Warden you created and how he or she became the mightiest of Grey Wardens and stopped the Blight. This adventure takes place as if your Grey Warden had never existed.

It's a Wonderful Grey Warden's Life, then?  Don't suppose we get an implacably soothing Fade Spirit showing us flashbacks where the Companions solve the quests without us?  That would be neat.

Warden: "What?  They can't preserve the Anvil of the Void, they just can't!  Alistair, what are you thinking?"

Fade Spirit: "Without you there, Morrigan was able to talk him into preserving it."

Morrigan: "Anything to stop the Blight, Alistair.  You know that. The Anvil is simply too powerful to destroy."

Alistair: "I... I guess you're right."

Morrigan: "Of course I'm right."

Warden: "No, don't listen to her!  Ask her how she'd like it if she were the first one on the Anvil!"

Fade Spirit: "He cannot hear you."

Warden: "No!"

But I'm guessing... no.

If it were this, then I'd SOOOO buy it:O

It would have been more appealing if it had a £0 (or $)

Ahmmm...no. I think I'll just skip this one. Playing your PC as a bit on the bad side, but human/elven/dwarven, would be one thing. But to play to destroy the world? To me, it's just kinda sick. Sorry, BioWare, for once (since Baldur's Gate) you've gone a little off the deep end, and not in a good, gonna take a nice, long swim way.

I believe morrigan would be the devil on alistars sholder. Although keeping the anvil has always been a no brainer for me.

I think it would be far more likely that Alistair get destroyed by Loghain, and then Loghain leads Ferelden's forces to certain death (defeated by the Darkspawn PC?), and the Blight would then spread, becoming a much larger problem. I see no possible way, short of Divine Intervention, and twisted laws of probability for Alistair to take the throne without The Warden, Though this is apparently not the case. . .

I actually suggested something similiar to this for an expansion where you play as the darkspawn and throughout the expansion fight against actual players characters taken from the social network similar to how it was done in Wizardry 4.

I guess I would normally buy this for the simple reason that this is made by BioWare, but I simply can't force myself into supporting a non-canon sidestory when my canon story is left unsupported.

Ok...So im being obnoxious about saying for 5bucks why not?

Well yeah, just as I said.  But it's not just you, it's anyone who trots out the old "if you'd buy a pizza/McDonalds/whatever with five bucks you'd be silly not to buy this!" argument.  You did use this argument, and I've seen other people use it too.  I think it's stupid, so I just said so and explained why.  YOU do not buy every cheap thing in sight (I hope), and maybe someone actually does want a pizza more than this DLC.  They are allowed to have that opinion.

Yes i agree with you there every warden should die in this twilight zone and loghain in his foolishness leads his men to death at the hands of the darkspawn horde. I would enjoy destroying loghains men and loghain himself rather then alistar. It'd be kind of like i told you so moment.Image IPB

Well, for those people who complained about difficulty being too easy in Awakenings... imagine what you're gonna be up against (at least Morrigan and Alistair will be there I think I read). Sill, I would have rather shared another adventure with my old party - seems like playing Darkspawn is going to be rather impersonal, kinda like if you were just a faceless stormtrooper in Star Wars.

And the real news I'm waiting for from Bioware is announcement of a patch, and so far they are still really silent about that...

Heh, yeah, my inclination to always play a "goody goody" doesn't do much to help me want this DLC. :)

All the characters seem to have some sort of vested interest in sticking with it, beyond wanting to follow the warden.   Morrigan, for instance, needs to get Alistair to the archdemon.  Zevran will be killed if he leaves.

But if I recall correctly, Alistair actually disapproves if you choose to spare Zevran.  To me, that implies that if it were up to him, he would have killed Zevran, or at least not have him tag along.

Come to think of it, Alistair also disapproved of having Morrigan in the party.  "Do we really want her along because her mother tells us to?"

Or Leliana.  "I thought we were full up on crazy."

Or Shale.  "Are you sure you want it with us?  It's a golem . . . and big."

I got a question do you think alistar could find proper armor that holds its own in a fight without the warden? I doubt it :D

I´m not a friend of DLC, but this one seems like BioWare got it right.

I hope it lives up to the expectations and isn´t too short.

I'm going to ask permission to my broodmummy to buy it, at the very least.
