Based on what I remember from the Original
*****POSSIBLE ORIGINS SPOILERS******
Morrigan is iffy on if she'd stay at Alistair's side, he would not do the ritual as he hats blood magic.
Leliana was deemed crazy by Alistair, but he may have been convinced to take her.
Sten, was thought dangerous, and would likely be left in his cage.
Wynne, would likely die in the right of annulment, since Alistair was in favor of it.
Zevran, would likely be killed post-assassination attempt, as most companions wanted him dead.
Oghren, might be left in Orzammar, since Alistair was unsure of taking him (a crude, drunk) in to the deep roads, but he may have joined up.
Shale, never liked really Alistair, and he was nervous about Shale, she likely would have ditched him.
The circle would likely be Annulled.
The Anvil of the Void would be saved on advice of Oghren and/or Morrigan.
The Dalish would likely be saved, and Witherfang killed.
Arl Eamon, would likely die without the ashes, as would Connor by Isolde's hand (he killed the mages, and is against blood magic).
Alistair, if he somehow survived everything would be unlikely to gain the support of the Landsmeet either, and would duel Loghain to lead Fereldan, killing him. and maybe have Riordan to try and help him, which would not go well, since even if they killed the AD, there would be no king and civil war again.

But if I recall correctly, Alistair actually disapproves if you choose to spare Zevran.  To me, that implies that if it were up to him, he would have killed Zevran, or at least not have him tag along.

Don't be ridiculous, Alistair is too weak to kill zevran. He just likes to **** about the PCs decisions as he does not have to make them.

"A look at an alternate history: what if your character had died in the Joining ceremony, and the Grey Wardens marched under Alistair's command instead?"

Ha, it would have been a disaster of course.

Ahmmm...no. I think I'll just skip this one. Playing your PC as a bit on the bad side, but human/elven/dwarven, would be one thing. But to play to destroy the world? To me, it's just kinda sick. Sorry, BioWare, for once (since Baldur's Gate) you've gone a little off the deep end, and not in a good, gonna take a nice, long swim way.

Heh, yeah, my inclination to always play a "goody goody" doesn't do much to help me want this DLC. :)

You know, it isn't even my usual inclination to play an actual hero that compels me not to play or recommend this download.  I'm actually playing through with a human female mage who is the typical grey warden - anything to win.

It's just...why would anyone really want to play a monster, one that's been developed as being somewhat mindless, following instruction from the archdemon, with a sole purpose to destroy everything?  Not just people, but life, land, everything?  What fun is that?  What creativity in play does that allow for? What opportunity for RP?

And, I doubt any of these darkspawn have seen a dentist in, well, like, centuries!

Sorry, to me, this was a sad miscalculation on BW's part.

It seems a great number of folks are pretty jazzed about TDC, and as someone who plays LotR-Online and it's 'Monster Play' feature I can understand the appeal. However, I'm going to have to stand with those who are *not* so thrilled. Sorry but, for Dragon Age, this just does not work. I think it flies in the face of everything we experianced as The Warden in DA:O and DA:A. There is no story appeal as we already have a deeper understanding of the Darkspawn thanks to the revelations of both the Architect and the Mother in Awakening. Really, this just feels like a Quasi-Dungeons and Dragons gimmick. They've mentioned a Darkspawn item being awarded for completing the DLC, but that just isn't enough incentive for me to buy something I otherwise have no interest in.

What's sad is that thus far I've purchased *all* the DLCs for both DA and ME. This is the first piece of DLC I've actually found unappealing to one degree or another. Still, alot of folks seem to find TDC interesting, so I'm sure BioWare is going to make a decent sum off of it. This time around, however, they won't be getting my money. Sorry BioWare, it hurts to say it. None the less, I'm still looking forward to what else is coming down the pipeline. Hopefully it has to do with our Characters or the Canon DA story.

Not for our new allegiances, the TRUE Vanguards of Destruction!

May the Darkness reign over the land!!

Play Awakenings and you´ll see there´s more to the Darkspawn than mindless monsters.

It would be cool if it was actually somehow a vanguard you fought or saw in the game. But they have sick axes and helmets. I hope they have 4slots so you have a squad of elite darkspawn killing machines in your party :)

Now, let me explain that I feel super guilty and inclined to be a badass noble hero who saves the day. I played 6 playthroughs with the same rogue human noble who believed in the good of the world. But this is interesting to me. I like the idea not because it will make me go haha bye world but stress how very important it is that you, the warden of Ferelden, exist. This poses the question- what would've become of Ferelden without you? The Steel Golems are in one of the screenshots, and if alistair is leading the only explanation is that he is easily led and lost sigh of his own true vision. This lets you experience what it would be like if you never saved the day, never could, and provides and interesting but bleak side story. I like it.

Despite that, still ain't gonna do it.  The whole idea just really turns me right off.  I'll just wait for a better DLC to come along, or just wait for Part 2 in February.

Hmmm....I have some NWN reviewing to do; and I can also dust off my NWN2 disc.  I'm sure I've got it somewhere....

What would be really interesting if there were double storylines in DAO 2 1 warden and 1darkspawn and your the vanguard invades Orlais but everyone would prolly hate this idea, and i doubt they'd do it simply based on how much time it would take.

I'd rather not.

That movie never happened.  NEVER HAPPENED!!

And the more i read about this DLC, the more i like it.  Should be a perverse enjoyment telling ogres to squish Alistair and Morrigan.

Sounds like you just run up to random darkspawn and "enthrall" them into your party.

Curiosity and the appeal of using Morrigan as a punching bag is just enough to hook me.

Only just, though.

Hmm. An interesting, "creative" plot diversion.

However, I do advise Bioware to consider random drug-testing of their dev staff from now on. It's for their own good really.

I was hoping for something with my party members from Awakenings. I don't think I really got to know them in the game (and damnit, I know this is repetitive, but no romances).

I may or may not buy this DLC. Really depends on the price tag.

Think of this adventure as your adventure, but YOU were never around to take part. Dragon Age: Origins was always the tale of the Grey Warden you created and how he or she became the mightiest of Grey Wardens and stopped the Blight. This adventure takes place as if your Grey Warden had never existed.

You play as a hurlock vanguard and use your new "Enthrall" ability to recruit your fellow darkspawn as allies. Partner with shrieks, genlocks, ogres and more. You  will encounter characters from Dragon Age: Origins both party members like Alistair or Morrigan (for example) and NPCs who try to defend Denerim and stop the Darkspawn without your Grey Warden to guide them. As the darkspawn,  you will have to defeat them to destroy Denerim.

If you choose to play Darkspawn Chronicles you can unlock 3 new achievements and, if you complete the story, you unlock the powerful new BlightBlood sword that you can use in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Origins Awakening.

The Darkspawn Chronicles costs 400 BioWare or Microsoft points and will be available on May 18 for the PC and Xbox 360 and on the Playstation 3 with date to be announced shortly.

So when my darkspawn "enthralls" other darkspawn to join him does he say "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL"?  Because that'd be awesome.

You don´t have to like it, and you don´t have to play it.

I was simply disagreeing with your statement that Darkspawn are mindless beasts.
