After leaving the camp for the first time after Lothering, I went to the circle of mages first and saw a couple of pretty nice items that I wanted to pick up, but both items cost over 100g each? Except for what I have all of my characters equipped with, I have sold just about everything I've come across, and still only managed to have about 15g at this point.
Any good ways to make money either before or after leaving the camp for the first time? (Without using the console to add cash)
How can I make money?

Pickpocket, loot from random fight and reward from quests/side quests maybe?

I was curious and i will be checking into the whole buy ingredients make potions and sell to the vendor thing soon. It may be possible to buy the ingredients make a bunch of potions and then sell them back to the vendor i do not know, honestly been to busy playing the game to worry about money, most of the gear i have is pickups anyway. Except for a few items in the stores (back packs), buying materials for potions (which i use like they are going out of style), the occasional coin to a beggar or downtrodden individual, coin for a bribe or a woman money has little use as far as i am concerned. Making Leilana wet by handing a couple of coins to a beggar is worth it. other than that i have little use for it.

Sell everything you don't need...and those items that cost over 100g..I've found better throughout the game. The only one I haven't found a match for is the Spelldrinker I think the name is..it was 87g and It was worth every copper.

I just can't believe how expensive some of those items are. You should be able to use intimidate more often to significantly lower prices.

I wear mostly pick ups and they are damn good. Only things i buy, and which are expensive enough to crash my wallet are reagents and back packs
but it indeeds looks annoying , to have 50g in my pockets and then see a item costing over 130g. :S

Good Question. The only things I have bought consistently are backpacks, potion ingredients, and skill/talent books and a master rune.
I can't remember what cost more, the skill book or the Rune. But most things that look awesome in the game are priced out of my slim wallet.
I need a bailout!

Or just use the cheat to give yourself 99999 gold. Gathering crap and selling it over and over isn't my playstyle. If I see something I like I buy it. Makes the game a lot more fun to me.

Along with the suggestions above, once you head to Denerim (sp), there are a lot of quests you can do for good coin return. And I do mean a lot of quests

Most quests only yield between 1 and 5 gold bars, and you usually have to fight ridiculous battles to complete them, thereby wasting a ton of potions and poultices which eat into your profit. In many of these 1 gold quests, I usually lose more than I gain because poultices and potions are so expensive, even if you make them yourself.
By far the best money-making quest in the game is "Precious Metals". This single Fed-Ex run deposits 58 gold plus a Crow Dagger into your inventory, and you don't have to fight anything. The only catch is you need to seed the quest with 40 gold of your own money....you get back 98 gold though (and the dagger) if you max out the returns with the right dialog paths. Also to get the best dialog paths you need a coercion level of 4. A coercion level of 3 is still good though, as you can still make about 48 gold. Since you can buy a couple skill levels from merchants, it usually isn't too hard to get to coercion level 4. I think the wandering one sells a skill point book, the Dalish merchant has one, and one of the Oz merchants too, maybe the Denerim one also ... just check around. High coercion also opens up a lot of other mini-quests and better loot in other encounters, so it is not a one-trick pony.
The second best money-making quest would be "Asunder". By letting the spirit go rather than killing it you get 25 gold. The easiest path is also the most profitable.
