When I chose her during the Landsmeet, I thought "Well, okay, you're the politician and Alistair didn't really want the job anyway". Then I was aghast that her first proclamation is to remove Alistair as a threat.
Shutting Anora in a tower is too good for her. She'll only get out later and make all kinds of mischief.

She only does that if you spare Loghain (otherwise she just wants an oath) and it's not her being MEAN or EVIL; it's her worried about the stability of her country and rebellions popping up in Alistair's name. When I chose her during the Landsmeet, I thought "Well, okay, you're the politician and Alistair didn't really want the job anyway". After all, at the time it happens, Alistair did just try to claim the throne. And can't the PC persuade her to spare him? Now, a PC who romances Alistair and then allows Anora to execute him--that's a REAL ****.

That only happened the one time! The rest of the time I marry him to Anora and then make friends with his new father-in-law...

Nah, Anora is just a power-grasping monkey who'll do whoever it takes to solidify her rule. It's the dubious justification of "I'm doing this for the greater good" when all she's doing is to remove anyone who has a better claim to the throne, so it'll be hers, all hers.
If there's any rebellions, it's only because she's an awful leader. If the rebels want to put a claimant to the throne, there's always Arl Eamon, who is Cailan's uncle, and I recall he was the one who hatched the whole plan about putting Alistair up.

I don't get why everyone hate's Anora's rousing speech. Sure, her voice is a tad irritating, but that speech is nowhere near in the league of abominable VO's as say Isolde or Marjolaine.

Has nothing to do with French. Has everything to do with TEAGHUUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, listening to Isolde makes me crave dynamite in my ears. Marjolaine is just as irritating.

And then there is perhaps the worst thing of all: she turns against you if you promise to support her but let her know how much you want to kill her beloved father! God, you're okay with removing him from power because he's crazy but don't want me cutting off his head if another option can be found? Unbelievable.
Interesting that the only people who say Loghain is power-hungry or crazy are the ones who want him neutralised. Anora says he is crazy. She also wants his power gone because its threatening her own power, she's just not prepared to be a truly evil daughter by having him executed.

Well, yeah. Anyone who thinks he's crazy is going to want him out of power so it follows that his supporters (except Cauthrien) don't think that.Elps wrote...

Yea I never got that either.
Sure, it's not Theoden "DEATH" speech material. But still, I thought it was adequate. And the VA was not that bad at it.
Though Loghain would have been the best choice for a speech. Read his speech at the River Dane in Stolen Throne.

I actually wished that Loghain had given the speech instead of her, if you spared him. he was, after all, ferelden's greatest general and a war hero, used to inspiring and riling the troops up. I think it would have been pretty awesome, especially given the crazy circumstances.
Since I usually make Anora queen in most my playthroughs, Loggy or not, I've heard her speech a thousand times, haven't cringed yet. It actually is kinda cool, seeing legions of men standing in adoration before two very powerful and kick ass females, Anora and my Warden.
