I guess this DLC shows how much BioWare cares about the original companions. No wonder they were tossed aside in Awakenings...

If our fans demonstrate particular support for one type of content over another, however, we'll obviously do our best to provide more of that sort of content in the future.

Right. Give us a DLC with a hour long mission for each companion with dialog and conversation trees of the quality of the original game. Charge 560 pts and I will buy it day one.

I would pay more. If they wanted to make each DLC focus on a different companion, I'd support that, too. I'd buy each and every one of the, even for companions that I'm less fond of, just to support the making of that kind of DLC, and to gain more understanding of the characters.

Well, I hate to admit it, but this is the first time I have seen a major DLC (as in, not just an item, but a quest or story) for ANY game I enjoy and said to myself, "Why should I ****ing care?"

If they did one DLC per companion overall it would cost us $56 for 8 hours of gameplay.

I like my idea better. :)

If they release a pack wtih a mission for every character then everyone (hopefully) will get something they like.

The problem is that some of the major companions are voiced by celebrities, who might now be unavailable for voice acting, not to mention come with a huge bill. A solution would be new voice actors for these companions, but that wouldn't exactly fall in good earth either, would it?

IIRC in one of Bethesda's Fallout 3 DLCs a NPC from the original game didn't feature because of this.

Um definately a NO on the Darkspawn Chronicles for me. I will not and cannot bring myself kill my buddies even though it a game. Playing darkspawn would be interesting but let those who like to be evil have it all to themselves. This is one download I won't be doing, but good idea on giving folks another playing perspective.

I totally agree, and I will definitely not be able to kill Alistair!! hehe :)

With all due respect for the voice actors, none of them are "celebrities".  They're all jobbers, who will be more than happy to work for a paycheck.  I don't imagine it is that hard or expensive to get them in for scale for a day of recording.  We're not talking Martin Sheen or Liam Neeson here.

IMHO Dragon Age is the best game I've ever played.  I enjoy all of it because it's obvious to me that a lot of time and effort went into the storyline, characters, etc.  That said, I will be part of the darkspawn at least once - so I can kill Morrigan, reload and do it again  Image IPB  Man that sounds like a great hour!  Seems to me OP become totally immersed which is certainly their perogative.  I personally would have preferred DLC furthering our PC or companion stories but I will support this DLC also.  By nature I am compelled to make all my decisions based on the Golden Rule, finding it all but impossible to play an evil character.  I will, how ever abhorent it may be to me; kill my beloved companions.  Bottom line - it's a GAME.

BioWare - you have my support and kudos for a great GAME so I may entertain myself  Image IPB

Don't you mean the most bugged game with the worst customer support in recorded history?

When did we start talking about Modern Warfare 2?

Well, this is a unique DLC, but I don't mind it one bit. Only downside is the PS3 one will probably be in June or July (hopefully before august....) :(

And, for the Customer support and stuff, I have met worse multiple times. I am glad they are still doing something with the community other than stopping after launch.

On the otherhand, I will most likely end up getting this DLC. Will be very interesting being on the other side. I guess now all I have to do is wait a few months :/

If the party system is as dynamic as it's billed to be it looks like a pretty interesting mini-game. I hope they make it hard enough, though. RtO was fun, but I beat it on my first try on nightmare without ever reloading.

Also, could you guys stick Isolde in there so I can murder her too? Maybe put her in two or three different places...

A number of them have said they'd be more than happy to come back, as well. I can see that it might be too expensive to have all of them in every DLC, but there's not reason that they can't have some in each.

Claudia Black is close to a celebrity (well, she has been on Farscape and Stargate) .... I'm sure people would ask for her autograph.

Steve Valentine ... well, looking at his Wiki page, looks like he's done a bit of TV too ... I don't know if in the U.S. people would recognize him on the street right away. (I didn't when I saw his picture.)

I do find it funny that observation was made by "William Shatner" ... this is one of favorite little sketches.

Haha, the power to kill Alistair.. my my, an alternate ending is oh so sweet. :)

Also i know everyone has grown to love their companions and their PC but c'mon, do you really need to be obsessed, as a Bioware fan i love the whole story telling they put in their games, however Darkspawn chronicles in an ALTERNATE ending, so to all the people that are saying "I wanted a companion DLC blah blah blah.." Havent you guys ever thought you might see them again in DA:2.? we dont't know what bioware has in store for us, just calm down, i think its time to put our mature behaviour hat on.

This is a DLC not an expansion, i think Darkspawn chronicles is going to be a laugh, i mean running around as a hurlock just seems like too much fun.

I might be too much of a softie to go about killing off Morrigan and all the other companions. Looks interesting nevertheless.

Hey, you get a chance to cause her death in vanilla. Morrigan, on the other hand, had complete plot immunity until this.

I'm curious whether your dead warden gets ressurected by the dark spawn as their new commander after taking Ostagar or if you start out as a random darkspawn commander.

Why in the hell would I want to kill all the companions I loved? This gameplay angle does not interest me in the slightest.

I'm gonna get it cause it looks really interesting.I'm not one of the people that don't buy this just because they don't wanna kill their "friends".Look at it like this it's a what if...scenario completely irrelevant to the plot and won't carry over. You should also keep in mind that you never met your companions this time.I will totally get this as I got every other DLC and I want this blightbleed sword I hope it's a nice high level weapon that I can use all the way through origins and awakening (and Darrian needs a new off/main hand weapon :D)

It's an interesting concept, but it's likely just going to be a linear dungeon crawl with a few lines of dialogue. Probably going to be pretty forgettable.

And, it's not a particulalry big deal anyways that you get to kill Alistair. You'll probably just stick your sword in him in some underwhelming boss fight since you're clearly not going to be talking to him - hardly interesting. The original game allowed for a much more satisfying betrayal of companions, particularly once that you've romanced.

Oooo lets make a "what if Duncan never died DLC" where you go around and slaughter the Archdemon by punching it to death with Duncan's beard

THIS is actually a DLC I would buy in a heartbeat 8D Can't say the same for this joke of Darkspawn crap they are releasing, though.

No thanks.
