What you miss or don´t like in Dragon Age: Origins

Give me a list of your complaints.
Me:
Denerim market district : This is the only part I get to explore and I find it land and boring. I´ve never been so disappointed with a capital city, if you were to compare this with that of Amn in BG 2 this city would be nothing. I´m aware of the lore and that this city has seen a lot of war and thus it´s recently built of wood and stone etc. It´s just a dull experience walking through it, nothing special I can remember from it. I miss being able to see more exciting parts of this city,
Like exploring the docks/graveyard// poor district for humans/ a place where evil people hang out etc.
(note: I havent played city elf origin yet though, maybe the alianage is interesting)
There were no noteworthy or interesting NPC´s/ quests in the capital either.
Bioware could have copied its winning concept with Amn and added a thief/pirate/assasin city like luskan somewherre ner the barbarian coast or something like it.... Also they could have a build up so you here a lot of stories ingame about Denerim that actually make you long to go there and see for yourself what it´s like....
(Got to say though, the pearl is an exception in criticism in this case, that one was great/hilarious)
Ferelden: When I look at the map I get a feeling something is missing..

I'd also like more varied weapons and armor. In, say, BG2, I would constantly be switching armor and weapons because of the vast array that was available as loot and in the shops. In Dragon Age, I spent huge chunks of the game with the same weapons and armor because there simply wasn't much to be found. Mass Effect had the right idea, even though it generally used the same models with different textures for many of the weapons and armor sets. I was constantly ooing and aahing over the huge amount of loot though.
That's about it. Every other aspect of the game was awesome.

I thought when ME first came out the biggest complaint everyone had was they spent too much time in the inventory sorting & going through all that 'loot'

Really? I'm a loot fanatic though, so I love getting my hands on huge amounts of weapons and armor. I blame MMORPG's.

Recuperating HP very quickly outside of fights as if it happened miraculously.
Having magic score useless to the warrior and rogue class and cunning pretty much the same to the warrior and mage. Why not fuse magic with cunning? Or benefit from magic as magic resistance and have some warrior and mage abilities require cunning?
Not having the choice to follow the main intrigue as a grey warden and being driven by the given story rather than our motives. For exemple, why not get the choice to side with the darkspawn? Or to have an alternate route on the way the darkspawn can be eradicated.
That, and I second people talking about exploration of the map and city of Denerim.

The only hardish fights even on nightmare is when you are forced into bad positioning by a dialogue initiated fight. Let us put our tank first in those and severely increase the difficulty of nightmare would be more fun imo!

It kills the realism to fight a full plated bully mobster and then loot a deep mushroom.
Ha! That's true. The loot is lacking in this game...then again, the game isn't really about loot. It's about story and character building.

I would say the same as you do, until I realised I kept the same helmet, amulet, ring and belt the whole game: the promo and DLC content. I bet if I had activated the blood armor, I would have kept that one too. It's quite a pity.WildstarGoethe wrote...

The game feels much more like FFXII than BG2. This isn't detrimental in itself but I was expecting the latter more.

A real home for your character, I was hoping Warden's Keep offered me that, but unfortunately the keep gets locked after you finish the questline.
Messages on what you loot/get, like instead of saying You have recieved an item, it would say "You have recived Health Potion" etc...
Aah yes, more to explore of the towns, Denerim was really a letdown, only one district to really explore, would have been nice with more big area's
Other than that, I wont really complain, the game is great

You must have missed the gazillion posts about it on the old forums - it was taken out by August.
The console versions are remarkably easier according to reviewers who have played both, and the feel is quite different as well. I play on PC and it feels nothing like FFXII to me.

1) a respec option (i dont want to hear people ****ing about it making the game 'ez mode' -- it should be an option for those of us who want to use it)
2) when you loot a corpse, you should be able to loot everything they had equipped- armor, weapon, etc. It doesn't make much sense that an enemy wearing a full set of armor only has a 'lyrium potion' on him.

But: The xbox 360 version has some faults: The tactics screen is extremely complicated and tiresome. I constantly get tempted to just forget about it and let the characters just fight by default as I do my magic with my blood mage. My experience is that it often works better than when I try to figure out the tactics.
Also: Why no zoom in the 360 version? My guess: The developers didn't want the tweens to zoom in on the female characters barely covered boobs and asses.
Finally: No proper "home" for the characters. The camp is not a home, in BG2 we got all sorts of homes (fortress, tower, etc) and I think one should be able to get the Watchers Peak as a base.
Otherwise a great game through and through.

If there is one thing I could change or ad, it would be a multiplayer, The day, month and years I've spend on dedicated worlds build from NWN bring back very fond memories.
Spoiler
as storywise, there is a moment in redcliff castle we Morrigan gets mad at you for not asking her if she wants to enter the fade. Well I actualy tried to ask her that, but it wasn't an option. Naughty, naughty Bioware for setting us up, as if it isn't hard enough to keep Morrigan pleased as a goody 2 shoes.

I am guessing massive, amazing cities are hard to do in 3D. Morrowind did pretty well with Vivec though, in my opinion.
As for other dissapointments, more varied armor designs would be nice, though I am not at the end of the game yet. My rogue has been wearing the same gladiator outfit the whole game... I would like to get her a sleek black assassin outfit or something, but I worry it will never come.
Other than that, 10 out of 10.

Other than this, this is one of the best games I have played in a very long time. Great work Bioware, and well worth the wait.

I agree on the loot thing too. I dislike the fact that my characters have been using the same equipment for 10 levels or so.
I haven't had this problem, I've worn heavy battle armor red steel, juggernaut, blood dragon, drake scale, dragon scale. I've gone through so much armor. My only complaint is that so far Blood Dragon Armor which I got around lv7 or 8 is the best by far.

Like it was not enough to customize my own real equipment every morning according to whether it is raining or not. Last week, I perhaps took a wrong set of armor and got flu. Or maybe it was just virus cought in mass transit in which case I should have used anti-flu potion before entering that location.

So far I agree on Denerim though.
My gripes are mostly more technical: The Number of tactic slots is too low. It is annoying as hell to spend character building points to unlock AI customization slots. Really? Whats the point besides being a Pointsink? Unlock them all from the start please! Next in line: Inventory. Please give me the box in my camp, thank you. Biggest gripe so far is the number of NPCs. Please give me one more Party slot. At the moment I feel like I am locked into always choosing the "best" so I do not switch around alot. I basically have the basic setup me rogue Alistair Tank Morrigan Mage. One slot for a DPS warrior, ATM Shale. Dog? Leliana? No room to take them because I feel I would "gimp" myself. Too bad. One slot more would be OK, 6 total would be perfect.
