I never keep both of them in my party for very long, does their dialogue ever reach a point that indicates they've put their differences aside?

Not really, although some of it seems more reminiscent of an antagonistic sibling relationship rather than outright loathing.

They both been brought up to be wary of the other. Mages are wary of templar and vice versa. It's probaly why they're the ones that don't get along the most.

Nope. They really don't like each other and never will. In the other hand, it's still pretty easy to keep them both happy and on the team. You miss out on some good dialogue if you don't try, as well as never having your potentially strongest warrior and battle mage on the team at the same time.

I had them together for a very long time and I think that is not the best idea. Morrigan always gets into trouble because her behavior and you will so if you listen to her. Alistar gives good advice nearly every time and more likely to accept your decision. He prefers to defend the weak like Wynne. In my opinion Morrigan works better with Sten.

The only time I can see them really agreeing with one another, in a sense, is their disdain for the highwaymen on the bridge to Lothering. I could feasibly see Alistair agreeing with Morrigan to get them out of the way.

Other than that, I'm sure the only thing they can agree on is that Morrigan is beautiful XD

I don' think Alistair sees Morrigan as beautiful.  I don't even think he finds her physically appealing.

I played a male PC once. I think there is a "beautiful" option when talking to Alistair but since I wasn't romancing Morrigan I didn't choose it. I guess I will never know unless someone says what his response was to that on the boards.

She's certainly physically appealing but too different in personality to get along with Alistair for more than necessity's sake.

I'll look it up in the toolset and post it in a minute. :)

EDIT

PC: I think she's beautiful. Don't you?

Alistair: Sure. Beautiful just like... like something that's also dangerous. Like a... beautiful, dangerous thing.

PC: Admit it. You want her.

Alistair: Oh, I give up. Do what you want.

lol

He will tell a male PC that he does find her beautiful.  In the same conversation, he tells him she is evil, a b*tch, that he doesn't like her at all, and that the warden PC should be warned against having a relationship with her.  So.

He also tries discuss it with Leliana and Wynne in his banter. He really doesn't approve it if you're romancing her.

Oh and the wonderful dry sentence of him when you admit to be in a RS with her?

M!PC: Yes, I love Morrigan.
Alistair: "Oh okay. It's your funeral."

Priceless.

Bottom line is they will always hate each other, as simple as it is. It's pure, unaltered hatred for each other. Nothing more to read in it.

And despite all of this animosity . . . don't you get a little glee putting them together for the Dark Ritual to conceive a child?

Particularly for Alistair whose only child will likely be through Morrigan. "It gives a whole new meaning to Darkspawn!!"

Won't be a treat for Morrigan either - she'll be raising Alistair's child always thinking "Your father does that and it soooooo annoys me - to no end"!

They actually agree that- *SPOILERS*

The Urn of Sacred Ashes shouldn't be shared with the world. The only person that wants to share it with the world is Leliana, but I always go against her because I think Alistair and Morrigan were right. That is almost the only time one of them actually made me change my mind lol.

When Morrigan makes sense, I actually agree with her.

I wonder why they (according to the new DLC) say Alistair can't lead. Most of his opinions are actually very fair. Even during the Redcliffe quest, he was thinking more realistically that we couldn't travel to the Circle in order to help Connor.

It's not that Alistair can't lead it's that he doesn't want to. He makes that very clear.

If the new DLC is to be believed I guess they "got along" well enough to do the DR :(((((

You really believe the new DLC has some sort of background story, Axe? Really?

Wow.

They are there because they are there, no deeper meaning. Not in a brainless hack n slay DLC that it is, at least.

I figured in the new DLC Leliana or someone else convinces him to do the DR.
