Change the title. You're spoiling the post-credits sequence, which is something that a lot of us nerds like the surprise of.

The Hulk would have been a cool crossover, his main movies have sorta sucked, it worked better as a TV show. Iron Man 2 is a bit disappointment I must say, if it wasn't for the star cast and special effects it would feel like a straight to DVD movie.Mickey Rourke is about the only decent thing in it and he barely has any screentime.

Did you watch the new Hulk film? I saw it in a double-bill with the first Iron Man and they establish a very clear connexion between the films.

Yea but I'm talking about a full crossover than something trivial.

e.g. A war machine type role.Or better yet, Scarlett Johansson's screen time. Why was she in this movie? Oh right, boobs.

The Hulk will tie in with the Avengers in some way, as The Inc. Hulk showed. Whether or not Ed Norton will be Banner is unknown, but Lou Ferringo is confirmed to be doing something in the Avengers, and anyone with any Hulk knowledge would know he was the voice of the Incredible Hulk in the 70s TV show and the latest film.

But the Hulk and Thor did face off in Hulk Vs, which is a damn good DVD just for Deadpool in Hulk Vs Wolverine.

He was also in the Ed Norton Hulk. Just look for the security guard with giant arms :)

Yes, I forgot that, addiction.

It's along the same line as Stan Lee in nearly every Marvel film.

Mjolnir isn't as grand in the Marvel Universe as in real world mythology. Apparently anyone the hammer deems worthy can wield it. That's probably code for "anyone that fits the current writer's needs for the story" but still...

It's pretty specific, actually. As far as I know, only Thor himself, Captain America, and I think Beta Ray Bill have been worthy (but I admit I don't read a lot of mainline Thor).

^ Harsh, but I kindof agree. Thor is a God not a super hero. The guys on your list all have no powers of their own (unless you count Cap's peak human abilities as super). They're the real men!

Mmm, I wouldn't say that only someone without powers can truly be a superhero (and saying IM has no powers is just...you only saw the movie, huh? Not the comics where he's got a robotic brain and the internet in his head and can control machines at will and wears his armor inside his skin...yeah, a real everyman). You tend to get more quality determination out of them, but you can hardly dismiss every powered character in comics because they're 'too super'.

I do prefer Captain America to Superman, though. Supes tends to be a mixed bag, writing-wise. Still, it's telling that Garth Ennis, the man who hates spandex superheroes so much he had Green Lantern raped, cannot talk trash about Superman.

The thing is IronMan has no superhuman powers. What he is, is because of his own inginuity and brilliance. Same with Batman and Capt. Cornhole, err i mean America. :P

Not the same with Flash, GL, MMH, Spiderman (I just don't like him), Superman. Don't get me wrong they are heros but not on that level.

Thor's father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Captain America, Eric Masterson (Thunderstrike), and Beta Ray Bill have all wielded Mjolnir.

You don't consider being able to control computers with your mind a superhuman power? And he doesn't need his suit to do it. Iron Man maybe have been an 'everyman' guy in flying metal pajamas of death before, but he's cyberpunk out the ass these days. He's in a whole new power class. And techinically speaking, the Flash and Spiderman are largely self-made heroes; Spidey produced his own webshooters and elastic liquid-to-solid webbing with the tensile strength of steel on a high schooler's budget. All he got from the spider was extra strength, agility, and spider-sense (and the Other can eat a million dicks, organic webshooters are dull). And the Flash (1, 2, and 3) was born out of his own chemical mishap.

I do find there's a difference between characters that gain powers (Flash, Spidey, Cap, mutants) and ones that have always been extraordinary (J'onn, Superman, Power Girl)--the first  tend to be more relatable in general, it's hard to relate to 'oh dear it seems i'm too powerful'. Street-level issues seem to be more sympathetic.

@ Bard: ah, it makes sense that Thor's forebears can wield it. Knew I was forgetting someone with Masterson.

Even in The Pro Ennis' Superman analogue was the most likable character in the whole book.  I'd actually like to see Ennis do a stint on the man of steel, to see what he'd do with him.  The only thing that comes close in style is Azzarrello's "For Tomorrow", which I loved.

I'm not often a fan of superpowered heroes either. At least not the Superman clones. I disagree powered heroes are automatically less than those without. For me at least, it depends a lot on the character's motivating factors. What makes Spider-Man cool to me are not his powers. Rather that he was a normal guy with a good, but not great life who had typical desires. He gets super powers and acts selfishly and because of it pays a steep price. Then rather than spiral into self pity he decides to do something good with it.

Superman, who I'm not that fond of and is way more powerful I still consider a hero because he genuinely wants to help others and uses his powers to that end. The problem with powered characters is we usually only get to see their human foibles and in turn how heroic they really are, when they are outmatched or in a situation where super powers are useless. It's hard to make godlike emotionally moving.

Batman was a great character but it isn't because of his intellect, gadgets, or martial arts. It's because of the choices and sacrifices he had to make to achieve mostly selfless goals. He could have easily ended up like a few of the characters in his Rogues' Gallery had he gone another way. Some would say Batman is still psychotic (especially present day Batman :P).

I guess I was wrong on the Mjolnir thing. Is that a fixed list or just a recounting of characters that wielded the hammer thus far? Because if it's the latter my point that anyone could wield it in the future due to writer fiat still stands. Otherwise I stand corrected.

I don't like Batman. He's a rich, broody git who wears silly stuff.

I miss old Batman... That was funny. KAPOW!
