I was considering this when I first caught wind of it, but the recent interviews have put me off. I had my heart set on controlling the Archdemon, even if only for a brief while at the end. I also would have liked to hear dialogue from the party before they're overwhelmed and killed. It sounds like there will be little to no conversation. That isn't going to make for a very fun "what if?" scenario.

I'm not playing DA nowadays, so I'll be taking a wait and see stance on this DLC.

I love the concept, playable Darkspawn was always going to happen sooner or later especially with the "humanizing" of them in Awakening. But it all depends on the customization for me, if I'm supposed to be some almighty Darkspawn general leading the attack on Denerim I don't expect to play like a vanllia Hurlock Alpha. Commanding troops is all good, but I'm the type that always tools up my PC as a walking killing machine.

Also being a PS3 owner, if it isn't out in less than 30 days after the PC/360 release, no purchase, another RTO type debacle would be unacceptable.

Why release more dlc, when the game is in desperate need of patching? If I did download this, I couldn't see myself playing through it more than once.

My warden is sitting in the camp with nothing else to do because Origins is completed and no dlc left to finish. Why would I want to kill off my warden that I just spent over 100 hours playing as? He's kinda like an extention of me into the world of Theadas, kinda like in the movie, Avatar.

I think it's a good idea if it tells us more about the world and is fun to play, but I'm not buying it until they release a patch to fix what broke with 1.03/Awakenings. Not that I was terribly bothered by any bugs in particular; it's the principle. If they want my money for this and future DLC, they'll patch the game... if not, oh well. No sweat, I'll play something else.

I'm referring to the bugs such as +healing gear not working, not being able to detect traps, Warden's Keep general incompatibility with Awakening, etc.

KILL THE WARDENS~!!!!!1

*Rock back and forth with glee.

I'll buy this, Bioware. As soon as you give me a patch that actually patches. I'll buy Awakening too.

Keep in mind, the longer I don't get a real patch, the less interested I become.

I think Bioware took a risk with this one, just like with the Marilyn Manson trailer...

I am not sure I want to experience slaughtering the folks I adventured with in the original campaign.

Also not sure I want to destroy cities I fought to preserve

Good Idea or Bad Idea :)

A few weeks ago, I posted on these forums "Wouldn't it be good, to play as the darkspawn?" I can't find the post, but I said it...and look....here it is...

Anyway, I probably won't get it. I am still waiting for awakening to drop in price. Since it is full of bugs.

Modifié par Elton John is dead, 09 mai 2010 - 11:55 .

Comm on people, its a "role" playing game, it is good to play the other side too.  So stop to complain...

Again, to reiterate a point made by me, and others, a few times already.

Lots of us would be fine playing as darkspawn. I wouldn't have minded a joinable sentient darkspawn companion, with dialogue, or even a "alt" side-campaign darkspawn party of four sentient darkspawn off doing something ... whatever sentient darkspawn might do, as far as "missions" or "quests". Maybe fighting the Mother's faction in DA:A. Or trying to do something on behalf of the Architect (obviously this would be set before the game's end).

RPing the darkspawn with sentience might have been interesting. This looks like a Darkspawn-based warhammer-RTS-style siege of Denerim: that takes place not just as a side narrative to the OC but "outside" the actual world-timeline. I don't think this is what most people who wanted playable darkspawn, wanted.
