DA:O has very good replay value - different races have different origin stories, and there's enough material in the game that you are bound to miss some on your first go even if you try to be very careful and do everything you can.

Of course you'll be doing the same mainline game quests but most of those quests can be resolved in more than one way, and the choises you make in the game affect what kind of an ending you get.

I think by the time you'll finnish, you'll be rearing to have another go at it. I found stuff that I had missed still on my third playthrough, and mods add to the replay value further, if you want variety.

Well, any class is worth playing. Mages have their own origin that's the same for both elves and humans, so if you want to experience species specific origins, you've got to choose either a rogue or a warrior.

The mage is probably the most powerful class in the game, and rogues are awesome if you build them right - a high dexterity rogue wielding two daggers deals out damage faster and more consistently than any other class, I think.

The only type of char I found a bit boring was a sword and shied warrior, but I'm sure there are people that enjoy that kind of a build too.

That's what I'm playing now (3rd playthrough). My favorite was my Dalish elf rogue. As stated above you can make different choices and change things up a bit but the main story stays the same.I"m still finding things that I don"t remember seeing the first 2 times.I think I"m going to do a city elf next.I"ve heard it is one of the best origins.

Multiply all your play-through scenarios by two - play as male and female. There are different options for both in some situations - romances in particular.

Wooha.. it seems that most people play this over and over again, thats very good to hear.. i was a bit scared that it was going to be like a WOW rerun when u cr8 a new class. but i guess i was wrong :)

Hm mage... maybe, ive always LOVED bows, is archery anything worth looking in too?

I think it's a matter of personal opinion.I love to stand back and throw things(arrows, bombs) at people .That being said I was a little disappointed with the mage.I think it was because I kept forgetting to heal people.

yeah, you can potentially replay this game a dozen times.

as for archery, if you're on PC, look for dex fix and faster archery mods.

I've completed the game 18 times and have three more characters in various stages at the moment.

I'm sure I've done everything once or twice already, but there's a lot of variation just from dialogue choices.

6 origins * 2 genders, then multiple ways to complete most of the quests.

Granted, I've slowed down a lot.

I'm personally not a great fan of the archery. I've played it, and it works fairly well, but I find that having a rogue works better with dual weapons and using backstab does more for dps. The only time I make an archer is if I am planning on a ranged team involving mages using spells that cause friendly fire damage. A warrior should be melee (imho) simply for the fact that they work as a meat shield.  It's not really that archery is a BAD class, I just find it impractical for this engine's purposes.

Overall, my favorite weapon set is dual blades for rogues and additional warriors, shield and sword for a primary tank.

Mages can be made seriously overpowered depending on the skills you choose. dragonage.wikia.com is fantastic for getting info on talents, skills, and classes.

dexterity on the consoles is bugged, so making characters dependent on that stat is not necessarily a good plan.

I've finished three playthroughs thus far. I think the Origin stories help the replay value quite a bit because it also changes the way the rest of the world responds to you, even if those changes are subtle.

plus there's a few ways to go about completing the origins. do you honestly help Jowan, or not? do you hump around as a noble or stay "honorable"?

As many times as my brain can crank out new characters. :D (I'm an RP-type player, yes.)

Game mechanics-wise, there are plenty of builds to explore. The game gives you NPCs of different classes, but unless you use a respec mod, there are specialization combos that you can only try out on your main character. That's quite a lot to build and try. It won't be the 'optimal' spec all the time, but sub-optimal specs can also be ridiculously fun, believe me.

I think this is going to be my first and only game to get my Platinum trophy on. DA has pretty good replayability, but Awakening needs a patch so I can finally play the damn thing.

Keep in mind once you unlock a spec it stays unlocked for future plays,so if you don't like what you have to do to unlock one save first,do what you have to do then you can go back and the spec will still be unlocked.
