first bit- thats over exaggerating for me.lukandroll wrote...

The problem its that in outer space, or underwater, or in any other harsh enviroment, this woudn't work
2nd bit- for harsh enivronments/planets/space the enivro-helmet should just stay on when you enter the enivronment, as it does with ME2. it doesn't make sense to collapse the helmet. As it is already implemented it shouldn't be a problem in terms of animating/modeling the helmets. Although with the Migrant fleet, you do wear the enivro-helmet i hope for me3 they have a 'special' helmet for this area. So we can see shepards expression. just the standard-helmet would do, but the front being fullyencased in glass instead of just the eyes.
My concern with the collapsing of helmets is it could possibly look weird for the MEuniverse.yes it happens with rifles but with helmets, its all in your face(no pun intended) in many cutscenes.if done wrong the fully-collapsed helmet could look like a strange neck/head brace.) other concern is the femsheps hair. Depending if they change the hairstyles abit they may also have to animate the hair with the helmet as it collapses. (slighly pushing the hair down/in or a ponytail inwards so it atleast looks like it stays inside the helmet instead of clipping)
i propose they make 1 or 2 prototypes first and offer it as cerberus DLC for ME2 instead of going all out in ME3. see the feedback and bioware can decide where to go from there
sidenote: i hate miranda and mordins helmets...please change them

Isn't for me Take a look at deadly reflex - Oblivion
or Total texture Overhaul - Oblivion
the complete over haul* forget the name but it changes like all game mechanics - fallout 3
R3st + memory Fix -GTASA adds HD textures too the whole game
Enseries GTASA Adds HD lighting, AA, Bloom, DOF, Car relfections better pretty much everything
Or fan made Half-life mod.

Easyer idea is just toggle helmet with the combat or locations. Meaning when Shepard holster weapon, Shepard also takes helmet off. Of course there are few scenes where players do take they weapons out in middle of the scene. So, helmet jumping also on, would be little funny. So, based locations could be better. Like game does now automaticly in ME2, when you are location where is no air. I ques it could be reversed, helmet comes automaticly off when you are location where it's not really needed, like in non combat areas in cities.

This would be the best way to implement helmet toggle.

BW should do this!
Or at least release an SDK so we can make it happen! Are there rules against "bumping" up threads? Some forums have, some don't.
