I would rather have continuation, provided they can pull it off. Their credibility took a big hit with Awakening, though, so I'm a bit weary regarding the issue.

Maybe they'll let us know what they're planning on doing at E3.

Continuation or a dlc or expansion before the big one to bring my current warden's story to a close if I have to start a new one.

I would like to start anew. New races, classes, places etc. But no priest unless it is a Dalish.
The Qunari look interesting.
Maybe have to option to import your old Grey Warden from Dragon Age Origins 1 though.
If you can choose it would be better.

New character, new place, new time would be my preference. ME2 and DAO: Awakening were inferior in plot compared to ME1 and DAO. In multi-choice rpg doing sequel with good plot is too hard. I would prefer at least 50 year time difference if DA2 would be in some other country, more if still in Ferelden. Nevarra, Orlais, Tevinter or Antiva could be cool, main  interesting thing about Anderfells would be Weisshaupt, but that could do too.

I think the each of the possible epilogues still leave plenty of unanswered questions. It would be disappointing to start a completely new character and be given only the resolution to a canon epilogue.

I wouldn't completely disagree with the idea of being a whole new character, though I do adore my dwarf warden. As long as there was sufficient reference in the new game to how completely and totally awesome everything she did was then I might be okay with it. I would definitely like to import at least the characters decisions.

Dark spawn are fine bad guys though it would be frustrating to find they could never be completely defeated, just driven back, so at some point it would be good to finish them off for good and find something new to kill. Though they would be pretty hard to top as villains, I mean grissly monsters created by tainted, mutated woman under the command of a corrupted dragon god?

:wizard:  If they wrap up all the story lines in DAO then it could all start fresh and new in DA2. Still think your character will go thru the entire trilogy then going to thier calling :)

I would preffer a new character and beginnings if for no other reason than hopefully it will probably have nothing at all to do with Morrigan (keeping fingers crossed). Rather than rehash some silly option that i used 2 times in 16 plays i would preffer to start fresh and the Morrigan situation can remain unresolved, chock it up to who cares and move on.

I would like to see some more concepts close to Awakenings, like ruling an Arling, war with another country, even allow me to originate in another country like Antiva, or Orlais. The Architect is a way more interesting story than Morrigan so lets follow up on that one.

I am hoping for continuation with my Warden, especially if Morrigan is going to appear. Also after investing so much time in this game I got really attached to my PC and his story seems entirely unfinished.
I’ll end up getting pissed off if there is a new PC, but the only thing that calms me down is that everything that we have seen and done in Origins was only a tip of the iceberg. There is so much more left to learn and explore about Thedas and the rest of the world. And the game will be better than Origins in every way possible and we will all probably end up falling more in love with our new PCs. But I would still rather play it with my Warden.

As long as there are lose ends left I'd like to continue playing my old Warden in order to deal with them.

Once that's done I'd be happy to move on to new characters and stories.

I want to continue with my PCs and I actually want to remain a Warden the way I see it my job as a warden is never done until the darkspawn are completly eradicated thats when i'll hang up my griffon helm(either that or I get my calling cuz lets face it even if you leave the order the taint is still in you, you'd not be able to avoid that forever) I'd actually like to explore the others countries other than Fereldan(like Orlais I want to research it anyway for my fanfic) makes sense if Morrigan makes her grand return since she has a great plot hook I also wouldn't mind a couple of darkspawn as long as there is a greater threat(then again the Architect's disciples are still around regardless if you killed him or not so i wouldn't be surprised if they began a push on the surface)

I would definitely like to continuing playing my Cousland from DA:O, but with some serious caveat.

I only want to continue playing my original character if the game is done in a way that makes my choices in the Original game meaningful. Who I romanced, who I put on the throne, if I was Prince/Princess/Chancellor/First enchanter etc.

If my choices in DA:O don't count or my character just gets mysteriously abducted to a faraway land (as in Mask of the Betrayer) as way to wipe the slate clean, then I'd much rather just start a new character.

Realistically that means I think it's for the best to give us a new character in DA2, but if they could make us a story in DA2 that still pays respect to all the possible endings you can have in DAO, then I would love to play some more with my current character.

If they redesign the combat system and reset all characters as in ME2, I won't mind at all, it's the continuation of the stories I care about.

As long as there is a character customization, I wouldn't really care too much. I would rather have character import, but I hear Awakening pretty much ends our Warden's quest. Although, I don't know specifically because I can't play the damn game due to all the lags and whatnot...

I think a new character, because I would like to see the next game taking place many, many years later.

i would never play doa again if they made us make a new charecter, there is no point in getting invested in charecters personality and such if it doesn;t continue for more then 1.5 games, i have truely considered a new charecter but i have to say i am not for it at all

Continuation without question, its too early too ditch all the time invested in the existing characters. Mix things up with some new companions ala BG2 and bring back some old faves, give us a decent conclusion and I'll be happy to move onto a new character in a future title.

I'm all for a new character in the next Dragon Age game.

With all the DLC, and possibly another expansion for Origins(just saying it could be possible), I am pretty sure alot of things can be tied up and finished. This would then allow for a new story for a Dragon Age 2.
It would be nice to find codex entries from our old team mates, and also info on Morrigans child. But other than that I am hoping for a whole new story.
More than anything though I am hoping fora more superior enemy. The Darkspawn are ok, but thats only because of there vast numbers. I wan't an actual enemy who is truly ruthless through strength and intelligence.

EDIT : I also hope the next character is not a Warden. Don't get me wrong, being a Warden is great, but I want the next set of team mates be there because I am there friend and not there superior. In other words, I don't want to be a king or an ultimate type of soldier force. Just someone normal who then gains skills throughout there quest.

Both options (to start a fresh Warden or to have the option to transfer over you warden from Origins somewhat like Awakening) would be good. I actually like playing an Orlesian warden better in Awakening than transferring mine from Origins. Go figure.

Who says it has to be a Warden? IMO there are many more things to explore than more blights or darkspawn. especially darkspawn.

It would be nice for it to continue in a way that's consistent with what my character did, but I don't want to play my warden in DA2. For one thing, I'm visualizing it as taking place when Morrigan's child is at or near adulthood, and who knows if my Warden will even survive with the taint that long. Besides, my PC was tired of fighting by the end of DA:O...I think I'll drag him reluctantly back into action in DA:A, but by the end of that, i'm sure he'll have had enough.

In theory I would like to continue my char. But if it is done as badly as everyone says it was in Awakenings, then a new character is probably better.

Would you rather play your old character in DA 2 or start a new one? Personally I would rather begin anew with several new origin stories and races like being a qunari. The actions you performed in DAO and Awakenings should carry over, however, so you can see the long term repercussions of your actions, like Morrigan for example.

If they don't bring back Leliana, your dog, Schoomples, etc., then I'd prefer new characters with a fresh start. Don't bring our character in if continuity will be discarded.

They they could only hope half as much time and resources into each one, though. I'd rather they just picked one and stuck with it...even if it did mean dragging my character away from Orzammar again. Gorim can probably manage until she gets back anyway. Posted Image
