Maybe they'll let us know what they're planning on doing at E3.

The Qunari look interesting.
Maybe have to option to import your old Grey Warden from Dragon Age Origins 1 though.
If you can choose it would be better.

I wouldn't completely disagree with the idea of being a whole new character, though I do adore my dwarf warden. As long as there was sufficient reference in the new game to how completely and totally awesome everything she did was then I might be okay with it. I would definitely like to import at least the characters decisions.
Dark spawn are fine bad guys though it would be frustrating to find they could never be completely defeated, just driven back, so at some point it would be good to finish them off for good and find something new to kill. Though they would be pretty hard to top as villains, I mean grissly monsters created by tainted, mutated woman under the command of a corrupted dragon god?

I would like to see some more concepts close to Awakenings, like ruling an Arling, war with another country, even allow me to originate in another country like Antiva, or Orlais. The Architect is a way more interesting story than Morrigan so lets follow up on that one.

I’ll end up getting pissed off if there is a new PC, but the only thing that calms me down is that everything that we have seen and done in Origins was only a tip of the iceberg. There is so much more left to learn and explore about Thedas and the rest of the world. And the game will be better than Origins in every way possible and we will all probably end up falling more in love with our new PCs. But I would still rather play it with my Warden.

Once that's done I'd be happy to move on to new characters and stories.

I only want to continue playing my original character if the game is done in a way that makes my choices in the Original game meaningful. Who I romanced, who I put on the throne, if I was Prince/Princess/Chancellor/First enchanter etc.
If my choices in DA:O don't count or my character just gets mysteriously abducted to a faraway land (as in Mask of the Betrayer) as way to wipe the slate clean, then I'd much rather just start a new character.
Realistically that means I think it's for the best to give us a new character in DA2, but if they could make us a story in DA2 that still pays respect to all the possible endings you can have in DAO, then I would love to play some more with my current character.
If they redesign the combat system and reset all characters as in ME2, I won't mind at all, it's the continuation of the stories I care about.

With all the DLC, and possibly another expansion for Origins(just saying it could be possible), I am pretty sure alot of things can be tied up and finished. This would then allow for a new story for a Dragon Age 2.
It would be nice to find codex entries from our old team mates, and also info on Morrigans child. But other than that I am hoping for a whole new story.
More than anything though I am hoping fora more superior enemy. The Darkspawn are ok, but thats only because of there vast numbers. I wan't an actual enemy who is truly ruthless through strength and intelligence.
EDIT : I also hope the next character is not a Warden. Don't get me wrong, being a Warden is great, but I want the next set of team mates be there because I am there friend and not there superior. In other words, I don't want to be a king or an ultimate type of soldier force. Just someone normal who then gains skills throughout there quest.

Would you rather play your old character in DA 2 or start a new one? Personally I would rather begin anew with several new origin stories and races like being a qunari. The actions you performed in DAO and Awakenings should carry over, however, so you can see the long term repercussions of your actions, like Morrigan for example.
If they don't bring back Leliana, your dog, Schoomples, etc., then I'd prefer new characters with a fresh start. Don't bring our character in if continuity will be discarded.

They they could only hope half as much time and resources into each one, though. I'd rather they just picked one and stuck with it...even if it did mean dragging my character away from Orzammar again. Gorim can probably manage until she gets back anyway.alickar wrote...
they would prob put both in new origins or continue your chars origins
