In the ME1 guide, it says that the Geth dropship will continue to drop enemies. I tried this and it just sits there after it finishs dropping enemies. So, am I doing something wrong, or it is just an error in the guide?

It doesn't have an infinite supply, eventually it runs out. There are no infinite spawn points in the game.
After you kill all the dropped enemies activate some of the defense turrets to deal with the dropship.

Thanks. Too bad the guide is wrong. It looks like I'll have to do another playthrough to get to level 60. I got to level 57 on a completionist run though with both DLC.

There's no way to hit level 60 in one playthrough unless you use an XP glitch.

The one where you go to rescue Liara is a good xp glitch.

It's faster just to do another play through and thousands of times less boring. "Hey, I can save and reload a few hundred times, BLAH!!!"
Yup it's not possible to go from 1 to 60 in one playthrough, with out either using the PC console or an xp glitch. It will take roughly 2/3 of a complete playthrough to go from 57 to 60 just due the amount of xp required. From the bottom of 57 (462,100 xp) to 60 (862,100) is 400,000 xp. You'll gain xp somewhat faster on your second playthrough, since it scales with level.
