Strength Dexterity and Consitution are a warriors main attributes putting points anywhere else only makes sense depending on which skills other then warrior skills you want hin to be able to use ie stealing disarm traps etc but you have other npc's that can do those things so it is just a metter of choosing the right companions

I'd say you can safely remove 5-10 points in constitution and move them over to dexterity. In most cases it will significantly improve your tank's survival. Just watch for those crushing prisons, curses of mortality and other nasty things that ignore your defense & armor, but that's why you went templar.

And I don't think you're missing anything, actually you probably have too many (1st level is 5 points and the 19 next levels are 3 each, that's a total 62, not 66)

For 2hander, I prefer to prioritize Willpower directly after Strength, especially since my favorite specializations (Champion, Templar, and Berserker) all directly benefit from a higher Willpower score. You can hold more sustained abilities like Rally and Indomitable, get more out of activated ones like Final Blow or Holy Smite, and still have the stamina to spam things like Mighty Blow, Sunder Arms/Armor, and Critical Strike when off cooldown.

Are you trying to be tough or deal lots of damage? If you want to avoid damage, you want high dexterity. If you just split your points evenly (and exclusively) between dexterity and strength, you'll end up with a tough tank that can deal decent, though not spectacular damage.

Basically what soteria said, but that's really more of a tanking setup imo. I had one here that ended up with about 50 str/dex and a meager 29% of party damage at the end of origins (went further downhill in Awakening with Nathaniel using imbaccuracy xD).

If you want to go 2 handed dps, you shouldn't put points into dexterity at all, because you're never going to have enough defense to be really hard to hit, unless you severly gimp your offensive potential. Let the real tank draw most of the attention. You will still be able to take and shrug off a few hits thanks to superior armor, but you're unlikely to survive when mobbed to death while your crowd control is on cooldown.

What you want in this case is as much strength as possible, and enough stamina to power your talents throughout the fight, because both of these are more influential to your damage output than in other builds.

Well, he did say "warrior main tank..."

But yeah, for a 2h warrior, just put everything in strength.

Just my own 2 cents here, but I find that even on NM, Alistair is a great tank even with only the minimum dex required for shield talents.

For that matter, I also found that Oghren performs admirably in his stead during the Deeproads segment, even picking him up at level 15 and being full strength/2h.

In my opinion, there isn't really a compelling reason not to optimize for damage output on a warrior. Yes, cranking dex makes you get hit even less, but with competent healing and good damage mitigation, warriors shouldn't die quickly in this game even on the highest difficulties.

If you want disengage, you'll need 18 dexterity. After that, I'd focus on strength, and add some to willpower, depending on how your stamina pool suits you. 60-70 strength by lv 20 should be plenty, and use the rest of your points as you see fit.

As for your tank, I'd aim for 38 strength/60-70 dex by lv 20. They will be extremely resistant to melee damage, and if you're worried about magic damage, there's always the templar armor/knight commander armor, dweomer runes, the spellward and other various accessories. Feel free to ignore willpower and constitution.

"With competent healing." Healing becomes a waste of time and mana with a good tank or crowd control.
