If Bioware makes a new intellectual property, what type of game would you like it to be?

I would really like to see a first person shooter RPG like Deus Ex or System Shock 2.
What made the above mentioned games so great was that they had such a tremendous level of interactivity, not just with the storyline but also with the environment.  In Deus Ex in particular virtually every object around could be interacted with one way or another which gave the player a tremendous amount of creative freedom in how they wanted to complete the game.

As great as Mass Effect and Dragon age are, I think the most immersive kind of RPG would be a first person RPG.  Many PC gamers like me who fondly remember the days of PC gaming before piracy ruined everything are deeply nostalgic for first person RPGs.  These games have their roots in the PC and thus have not really caught on yet with consoles.
Bioware is an extremely talented development company and I think they have shown creative diversity with games like MDK 2, Sonic:The Dark Brotherhood) and Shattered Steel.  I think by making a first person RPG they could reach out to the gamers who miss these kind of games and give the genre as a whole a complete reneissance.

Deus Ex is my favorite game of all time and I have high hopes for Deus Ex 3.  If that game is successful perhaps Bioware will be inspired to create their own first person style RPG.

Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider style adventure game in present time, on earth. I'd like to see it more heavily focused on a single narrative with less customization, and possibly no squadmates or love interests.

There is so much fantastic yet unpopularized mythology, spanning from all edges of earth and from all different ages of civilization. I would love to see a lot of real, ancient tombs imagined and explored, without having to default to a terrible aliens story-arc. (i love aliens, but not in ancient tombs)

I'd also like to see Bioware make a time-travel game. Time travel is hugely popular in TV, Film and literature, but has not been done as frequently, or as well in video games. I would love to time travel making tough decisions.

Same answer as always. An urban fantasy adventure set in modern times. The closest comparison would be VtM: Bloodlines, except with better appearance customization and fewer flaws. I would prefer if the game was on the realistic side without making supernatural elements too over-the-top, so that when they do appear it feels special.

Alternatively, I would love a similar setting, but as a turn-based RPG with full parties.

ohhh, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines! Probably the only game that has ever scared me as an adult. That game is extremely unsettling. I wonder if Bioware could tackle the survival horror genre.

I'm a big ShadowRun fan, so I'll pick that one. Or the much-hyped Dresden Files, which books I've purchased but haven't had the chance to sit down adn read yet.

A game based on the Dresden Files would be right up my alley. :) That's kinda what I was thinking about, albeit with less craziness in the magic department.

Now that survival horror has been brought up, I wouldn't mind a game of that genre either.

A team based multiplayer action-RPG game.

Like Guild Wars/Team Fortress 2.

Sure, but we're talking intellectual properties here, not genres. What properties or settings or worlds do people want to see as the basis for a BioWare game.

There's another thread discussing which new direction people would like to see BioWare go in, so let's try not to mix them up. Thanks.

I'd like to see something along the lines of a fictional turn of the 20th century kinda spiel. Somewhat like The League of Extraordinary Men or whatever. Maybe a world where there used to be magic but is being usurped by industrial technology. It would be an interesting struggle to play out in my humble opinion.

I don't know that I think BioWare should pick up any new original IPs. Mass Effect and Dragon Age are pretty good on their own. And I'm actually not completely happy with the "originality" in Dragon Age. Don't get me wrong: I think it's a great game with a great story. I just don't approve of taking something that already exists (ie elves and dwarves) and changing them in irrelevant ways (ie slaves, rebels, oppressive caste system) and then calling it original. Sometimes the rule "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is very appropriate. Elves and dwarves in fantasy have never been broken. Whereas Sten and his backstory and race was fantastically original.

I'd like to see them polish that aspect of what they already have going.

Also, their graphics and artwork are amazing, but they animation is lacking. I think they should spend some time studying more proficient animators and polishing that aspect of what they already have as well.

I'd love to see something steampunk themed. Or something that mixes magic and technology, similar to what lv12medic said.

Would this be a Bioware only title?  Because there are a few companies I'd like to see Bioware partner with on a new IP.

Steampunk, because there's only been like one decent Steampunk video game in history, and Bioware would make a fantastic RPG like they always, so we'd FINALLY get a proper Steampunk game.

Alternatively, a Dresden Files Bioware game would be pretty sick, would have to be non-canon though, or AU. That said, could be sweet as hell.

A setting similar to Hellgate London for me only in another city.

Definitely this.

However, I'd like it to be a dark urban fantasy. Ambigious choices and decisions like The Witcher. Unfortunately making a game feel dark, gritty, and hopeless isn't one of Bioware's strong points, nor is making a game with choices that go beyond the range of good and evil.

Well, if they continue to be as successfull as they were in the past, sooner or later they'll have to branch out, either to add another IP, or to replace an older IP.
That said, I'd enjoy almost every possible setting, as long as it has the typical BioWare setup - story, dialogue, (moral) choices, 'cinematic' presentation. A time travel setup, however, could run forever, since it's possibilities are limitless, and could include almost every story arc possible.

If you have an idea, please share it.  I for one wouldn't mind if Square/Enix outsourced development of Final Fantasy 15 to Bioware considering how crap the series has become.

I'd like to see, as someone said above, an urban fantasy-esque game.

Sort of a cross between Dragon Age and the modern world. So you'd have Dwarves and Elves mixing with humans, and I think BioWare could get a really strong message into the game. I don't know how they'd turn it into a game, unless they keep the magic and swords.

A Steampunk themed game would be spectacular, though. There's so many possibilities and no one seems to be capitalising on it.

I'd like to see one based around present-day special ops or global conflict scenarios. Something like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six Vegas with RPG and conversation layers.

Something with a setting along the lines of Full Throttle or Monkey Island would be cool as well.

I wouldn't mind a more grown-up version of a JRPG-style world either. I may not have enjoyed the most recent Final Fantasy games but I can't fault the creativity going into some of their designs and concepts.

I would also like to see an IP with a mock world based on a modern-day culture or following of some kind, and so doesn't take itself too seriously for the most part. The closest example I can think of is Brutal Legend, where the whole world and its concepts were based off heavy metal.
